And this dude..

Fly Ty was like 28 bringing in millions for all of those Cold Chillin albums. When Kane and Biz had all of those hits, this dude was seeing a ridiculous amount of bread. He brought us a lot of legends on that label. People always forget about him, but he was early in the game discovering legends and dropping classics on his own imprint.

:russ: Yo Jim is my favorite dipset member but folks legit was on every posse cut during this time hahaha every damn remix

Folks was on some other shyt during this era those Gucci tapes were the embodiment of rap man

It doesn’t get more gutta than this

You gotta be trolling. This is legitimately some of the worst rapping from alleged real artists I've ever heard. I've heard people who don't rap freestyle better shyt than some of these nikkas. Horrible.

how many rappers who actually made it are from Mississippi? Banner and Krit pretty much.

and oh yeah....

cats shyttin on where their people come from (FBA cats anyway) never sat right with me.

Midwest, West Coast, and South always showed each other love for the most part cause the Midwest and West Coast cats know where their people came from. The whole elitist mentally from SOME NYC heads had was always goofy.

Because the vast majority of them northern mfs are immigrants

Isn't mississipi (and the deep south) the least educated and poorest state in the country? Obviously there are a lot of systems in play there rather than just "brothers don't want to be educated," and this was a pretty dumb statement from RZA.
Lol.

If this ain't the truth:laff:

You got a problem?

I said what I said, Toomp and a whole host of Southern producers are better than RZA:sas2:

:umad:

Toomp ain’t seeing RZA from 93-97

Now we have a argument for Bobby Digital era RZA.

Too bad that style of producing wasn’t out yet because Kanye and them made beats that sounded like Bobby Digital era RZA in the 2010s.

You gotta be trolling. This is legitimately some of the worst rapping from alleged real artists I've ever heard. I've heard people who don't rap freestyle better shyt than some of these nikkas. Horrible.

Gucci didn’t care about lyrics along with OJ Da Juiceman…

Coincidentally, his favorite rapper is Project Pat who isn’t the best lyricist but his flow is understandable.

Pat made it cool rap nursery rhymes though.

He isn’t spitting straight gibberish like Ghostface

:whoa: Sylvia was the real deal and Def Jam was monumental and still standing today.

i should've been more nuanced in my original post. it should have read:

the South (and West) were the first street nikkas/hustlers/rappers turned CEOs to get to the real money in rap by maintaining autonomy/ownership and not being in bed with a bunch of Jews.

someone's gonna say "b-b-but Eazy and Jerry," and you always need a Jew to sign the big checks but you catch my drift.

nikkas like J. Prince, Birdman, and Master P held on to their masters from the jump aaand those cacs still had to break bread (especially in NL and CMR's case).

meanwhile their more educated NY counterparts Bad Boy, Rocafella, Murder Inc, etc gave up half of their company and/or their masters off rip.

They're ALL in bed with them. They have complete monopoly on distribution.
