Geez I want this woman to stick around for a while. Clinton/Warren '16

Look at the contrast between that and Ted Cruz reading Green Eggs and Ham. It's a fukking joke.

The popular conservative response to this shyt is disgusting. 'Oh OSHA and the FDA are on vacation? Looks like I can finally get some work done har har.' Sure, fukk it, lets go back to having 8 year olds work in coal mines too. And then they mention how inconvenienced they are by parts of the shutdown. Some local radio talk show guy asked why our 'public servants' couldn't just show up and work for free. He had called a Senators office and the answering message mentioned the shutdown. fukk some of these people are purposefully trying to be unreasonable.

Lets play devils advocate, what if the ACA falls flat, ends up costing more than our current system results in the loss of jobs, and a decline in care... How are the Dems looking then? :mjpls:
OR...the currrent system already means a lack of care, a healthcare system focusing less on preventative care and more of "HOLY shyt my years of not taking care of myself means a 5 hour wait in the Emergency Room, and taxpayers footing my bill because there is no way in 100 years i can pay this bill!". Jobs wont be affected negatively, unless more patients means less healthcare workers...why are you so defensive over the current system? Its flawed beyond belief. Who knows what this will do but we need ot at least try something.

We don't have to play devils advocate. If the law was so bad, let's enact it and prove it is indeed the disaster they claim it is.

But they don't want to do that do they?

If this law works republicans are doomed....if it fails same fate will fall democrats.

It's a bad law but far more bad laws have worked in this country which means ACA has a higher chance of working.
Republicans are not stupid, they know if the law starts working they wont win elections in a long time.

Exactly if obamacare is such a doom scenario then let it run and fail then scoop up all the disgruntled voters and ride that wave to presidency. Republicans fear obamacare because it might actually work!

Niqqas slavery was law :mindblown: WTF does that mean? That we should just ride with it, cause that's the law of the land? :wtf:

Do ya'll hear yourselves?

Obamacare is not slavery no matter how much you try to put the two together. Slavery is a human rights violation, healthcare reform is trying to save people's lives. You keep on making the comparison as if it is actually viable or logical. It's not.

:whoa: I'm not. I'm defensive over my constitutional rights, and don't want the Government not only deciding what I will purchase, but fining me if I don't.

I've already gathered that freedoms and liberties are meaningless here on HL so I wont go any further...

Its law, slavery was law. The specifics are irrelevant. if you say the supreme court approved it, I can say they approved slavery to show how meaningless that is...

and yes everyone knows they are not the same in application :comeon:

No the specifics is the issue here. You can't just say it's the law and ignore the contents of the law. It doesn't work that way. The only people who think like that are ignoramuses who want to stay in their reality bubble.

:win: That's actually the plan... but liberals are good at painting the fail on something/some one else and presenting a new government plan to fix things...

History is a potent antidote for history is a powerful antidote to contemporary arrogance. It is humbling to discover how many of our glib assumptions, which seem to us novel and plausible, have been tested before, not once but many times and in innumerable guises.

That's the plan...if it says it will work....

Republicans know this.
History has shown a new entitlement keeps democrats in power for years look at FDR and hs 4 terms after medicare and social security.
Republican party future is on the line if they let this law get smooth sailing

:why: My point is that a supreme court voucher doesn't mean shyt. They have approved all sorts of fukked up shyt....

It being law doesn't mean shyt. We have had, and still have all kinds of fukked up laws...

:what:wtf are you trying to say?
