Hit this thread back when you’re done bro

Movie was fire. Moving with the same concept as Signal but more interesting. It really excelled in what I hate about time oriented films/shows, explaining that one is from the future and the person from the past being fascinated and open to it.

There were 2 points that I found wonky
She walked away from the explosion without losing her vision, hearing or being striked by shrapnel?

:beli:

The older version shouldn't have disappeared before she stabbed the protagonist. Death is the only exception, the mother didn't die from the fall and neither did she.

Not gonna lie, I closed my eyes during a scene, I'm squeamish, the actress really shows her desperation and commitment to Young-Sook.

Great flick.

Watching all of these Korean shows made the pronunciation easier but when I went back to Japanese I was like ???

Biggest reason for me not to learn it is the writing system.

:hhh:

Ks become Gs
Ts become Ds without a certain symbol.

Tteokbokki is トッポッキ in Japanese, simple thanks to Katakana. I don't even know how to say this in Korean.

Bi bim bap... you would think the first "bi," is a b, but no it is a p.

:what:
----
Ordered the 1 Litre of Tears book set off of Amazon Japan and will get into those this weekend. Been slacking on my writing so I'll be doing that too.

I’m no Korean speaker whatsoever but I lived in South Korea a total of 6 months or so off on…I do know Busan can be pronounced with a P or B. I think someone told me the P pronunciation is more traditional or old school.

I also hear a P sound. :dwillhuh:

Is this thing a like Japanese hearing R when it comes Ls?

the sound is definitely in between B and P and it can change depending on where it is in the word

but i always thought bibimbap and busan clearly leaned towards B

korean has its own letter P so it just made sense to me that way

:russ: you guys got me going through youtube to see what other people think

timestamped videos so you can see where i'm coming from :lolbron:

i don't know japanese at all so i can't speak on it
