I don't believe I'm 'special' because I know many girls like myself, and many better than me. it's extremely narcissistic/self-centered to believe you're better than others. Erm, I date for marriage, so yes I've ended a few because i didn't believe we were compatible. Why waste my/or his time? The problem with our culture nowadays is that people date out of convenience, and then 'fall' into a relationship. The whole first look or love at first sight is idiotic to me, and extremely shallow. I plan to only fall in love with my husband , because by then I know to an extent what type of person he is.

:ehh:
so what if you marry and then say years down the line your not compatible anymore :youngsabo:

People change; we're forever growing. I don't believe in fighting that change. If there's enough love, respect, and compassion for each other, you'll still be able to compliment each others personality traits without stunting your growth. People get married thinking the aforementioned (love, respect etc) is something that automatically comes with marriage. They don't understand that it is something you constantly work to keep.

@BillCosbyAteMyHomework

is marriage on the table for you :lupe:
who knows. I feel like I would be the wife that my partner deserves now that I've learned from my past mistakes. And unfortunately, it did take that divorce to teach me those things. On the other hand, like I said, I am confident that I can truly give someone a great forever this time around.

I will go into it next time, with the understanding that it is work. I'll go into it wanting to make the other person happy before myself.

I did.... but I was living in the day to day, and I think I went with what I thought I 'should' do since we had been together so long.

my grandfather gave me marriage advice over the weekend. simple things yet gold nonetheless.

1. "women arent meant to be understood, only loved. nobody will ever fully understand them"

2. "it takes 2 to argue. if she wants to nag u, let her and dont fight back if it isnt a big deal. she will get tired of nagging by herself and just shut herself up but if u keep going back and forth she will start fights just to get ur attention"

he's been married 51 years so he must be right.

my wedding is in 25 days brehs :obama:
