Number 1, ancient societies had pockets of capitalism. Latin America had capitalism since it was colonized, China is capitalist. Pretty much every example you used was wrong.

You’re referring to mercantilism. Merchants were usually the lowest rung of freemen in these societies. China’s entire economy was not predicated on the free exchange of goods and services. If they had practiced true capitalism they would’ve industrialized as a society. They didn’t, Britain, then the U.S.

Number 2, The reason why capitalism developed more since the transatlantic slave trade is because the transatlantic slave trade was more profitable than previous forms of slavery. Thus, you can call it the foundation of modern capitalism.

If trans-Atlantic slavery spurred capitalism why didn’t Britain begin to industrialize until after the abolishment of the trans Atlantic slave trade?

And if American slavery was so profitable to the British Empire why didn’t they join the Southern states in defeating the North? There were calls by the British cotton industry to ally with the South to maintain cotton production yet the citizen body and most of the British government did not want to ally with a Slave state. If the economic imperative was stronger than the moral imperative can you explain why they chose to sit out the war? The truth is that chattel labor was no longer required to spur economic growth in fact it was better for it.

Number 3, capitalism, nor industrialization ended slavery. In fact, it was still going on for a long time after it was officially abolished. There's still slavery going on in parts of the world. What ended slavery is Black Americans increasingly standing up against it, along with the Civil War, which wouldn't have been won without Black Americans. Nothing can compete with free. Stop trying to downplay the role Black American slaves played in building society.

Completely different forms of slavery. Small tenet farming and sex slavery does not compare to plantation slavery.

Black Americans played a key role in ending slavery in the United States, as did multitudes of Black peoples in Latin American. Fear of mass rebellion certainly played a roll in the end of slavery. No denying that. The correspondence from slave masters in the Americas were constantly filled with fears of slave rebellion and destruction of white supremacy.

Number 4, you said you don't see how slavery expanded capitalism and industrialization. Are you out of your mind? Slavery created a lot of capital for the west which they then invested into industrialization.

Agrarian slave societies developed slower in every aspect. The North where slavery was illegal developed faster than the plantation based South. The civil war was won because the North was industrialized and the South wasn’t. Russia collapsed because it was relying on serf slave labor into the late 19th century. Spain collapsed because it was relying on its colonies completely for economic growth and amazingly only began to industrialized economically when they lost them.

Slavery was the chains around human advancement, not the cause.

Number 5, you must be afraid that there's a clear cut argument for reparations, because Black people built America, which built the West, which you're living in most likely, so give credit where is credit is due. Or maybe you worship the very system that wouldn't have been possible without Black people suffering. Pick your poison.

I'd argue it wasn't needed in the first place (there's evidence that cotton/tobacco/sugar cane production would have been higher under free farmers), but my point was that the institutions of the time still did indeed need "slaves" despite industrialization (i.e. cheap labor). The problem was that the mechanism of buying/selling people was no longer in place. This began the practice of using prison labor and debt peonage as a way to transition out of chattel slavery.

A side effect of this was the narrative that Blacks are pre-disposed to criminality, easing the guilt of White Northerners who were sympathetic to the abolitionist cause.
