This perfectly illustrates what the Democratic Party is all about.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:

I wish people would stop cutting the clip and play the rest of her statement. She said some shyt people really need to hear.

"When it comes down to the primaries... We need to get as many people to the polls as possible to vote for more progressive Democrats. We need to get the old white Democrats out of office and put in new younger people who will actually defend the rights of women and people all over this country, and then when it comes to mid terms we need to make sure we have those same people who voted for the progressive people in the primaries coming back to the midterms and voting again and making sure that these more progressive Democrats get into office and can actually make the change that we need."

Obviously they don’t want people to see that part because according to the Democratic leadership, progressives are too radical. During primaries, progressive candidates become more dangerous to democrats than MAGA. Rashida Tlaib is an incumbent and the DNC is plotting to challenge someone for her seat. This despite them having an unwritten rule of not supporting incumbent challengers.

I don't know if it's being done on purpose or not, but besides the Majority Report, everyone else I've seen has cut that part off.
The clip has gone viral and it would've been nice to have that statement attached to it.

I got so many texts and emails since this this decision was announced. It’s in poor taste especially when Biden rejects the most obvious solution of expanding the court. He won’t even use it as a negotiating tactic. Same goes for voting rights and a host of other culture issues.

Lets be reality, both parties use these issues to galvanize their supporters and to raise money.

How is he going to expand the court?

I see the Dems shills are doing their work. Dems could passed legislation incumbered from 1973-81. And waived the filibuster from 87-95 and from 2009-11, but Obama said it wasn't a priority. She's not all the way wrong. Dems will just fundraise off it and throw up their hands when they lose. After all, they do love a strong republican party
How was it a priority when there was no threat of it being overturned.

You guys love to twist yourself into blaming the Dems @mastermind

:what:

Roe was going to be overturned in 1992, until Justice Kennedy changed his mind at the last minute.

A major reason why having convos in here is goofy is due to most of you not knowing anything that happened before Obama became president. IDK if it’s because you all are very young or your brains cane online during that period, but you can actually read something before you make a post.

A Supreme Court ruling is just a ruling. They been clamoring for a law since and no one cared to do anything or just straight up lied like Obama did.

So you think there was 60 senators that were going to codify Roe in 2009?

Do you think in the 10 months Obama had a super majority he should’ve had the foresight to see that Trump would win the next election and pick 3 SC justices and overthrow Roe vs Wade and try to pass abortion laws instead of an affordable healthcare plan

Y’all don’t operate within reality

Yeah breh, you don’t need 60 senators to pass a bill. you need 60 to stop a filibuster. In 2009, the Dems had 59 senators and Judd Gregg, Susan Collins, Olympia Snowe, Kay Bailey Hutchinson and Murkowski were in the senate at that point. The change was there.

They had a chance under Carter and Clinton too. The Dems used this as fundraising and nothing more.

You don’t read.

I agree with the OP. Centrist signature issues/agenda are fund raising, military spending, catering to their corporate donors
and maintaining the institution/status quo

Everything else is just lip service

the ACA couldn't even pass without them caving to anti-abortion DEMOCRATS like stupak in the house and ben nelson in the senate. there were even more anti-abortion democrats during the time of Carter and Clinton.

he didn't even have it that long, amounted to more like 7 weeks because of Kennedy's ill health and eventual death in August and Franken's contested election leading to him being sworn in July. And even in those 7 weeks Ben Nelson isn't voting abortion into law.

You wrote ACA, when I said making abortion into federal law. Those aren’t the same things and it could have passed as a separate bill. I named five republicans who likely would have joined due to supporting the roe v. Wade decision. No need to run interference for Obama, he didn’t care to make it into law.

And let’s say this is right, that the blue dog Dems weren’t going to support it, then you see why this “vote blue this November, no matter who” backfires?
