The blame for losses is on the team, not Lebron individually. Lebron makes his teammates better with his play by putting them in positions to win games, whether it be his passing, defense, or offense (drawing defenders then kicking for open shots). He keeps them in close games, so if the team loses it shouldn't fall square on his shoulders. But when they win, more often than not it's Lebrons direct effect on the game.

And I should have said "in basketball, one player has a direct effect on the team's success, despite it being a team sport" in my last post. Lebron can give you the game of his life but if the teammates don't pick up the slack and do their job, the loss is on the team as a whole.
:dahell:
weren't you out there burning his jersey a few year ago?

Do you really think Jordan made Kerr a better player? No because Kerr is a set shooter and he supposed to stand out there by the 3 point line and wait to get an open shot just like he did on the Spurs. Any team Kerr was on, he was expected to sit out there by the 3 pt line and wait till he has an open shot. So players that create an open shot for the Kerr's of the NBA are not making them better just formidable because that is what they are supposed to do

The smiley was because you took a rounabout way to say what you said in this post. Having the space to shoot that shot is a byproduct of playing with someone the caliber of Lebron. It makes them better because they learn how to float to open areas to receive a catch and shoot. We'll see how things go in the new system thats in place, but I'm sure Bron can work with the talent around him to elevate the team's level of play.

@Microfracture....I see you viewing this thread, what you gotta say breh?:sas1:

I know you watching all the games and dont see anything LeBron is doing to make an impact on Kyrie, Waiters, Thompson, Varejao, or Love. They are playing like they always play and LeBron just stands around the perimeter watching them.........unless he has the ball, and then he creates or drives.

That's not conducive with playing with a Kyrie Irving, who's also use to running the offense and being ball-dominant (as he should, being that he's the natural PG anyways). Unless LeBron starts playing off the ball with some type of energy and intent, the team is gonna struggle to work together. LeBron, Kyrie, and Dion are all ball dominant players.

LeBron is a GREAT talent, GOAT talent, but he just doesnt make anyone better. He just needs to play HIS game and quit worrying about anything else. This passive ass LeBron aint gonna do anything and he needs to step up as well instead of blaming "The Help"

Man I'm not gonna say anything definitive in the first 3 games, come on now. I agree with you he does need to play his game because if you saw the game last night, Lebron wasn't doing a damn thing and the offense regressed into Kyrie iso ball. So it is on him to lead the team instead of trying to prove a point to the young guys, I'm just saying we can't dive into this argument again with such a small sample size. If they come out on all cylinders tonight and give you a preview of what this team could be like, this thread will stay lost until Lebron plays poorly again.

:dahell: Did you just say Lebron taught NBA players how to go to an open spot on the floor and shoot an open shot

:mindblown: the lengths people go to give Lebron credit is crazy

It's not even about the rest of the Cavs...they all looking to him for leadership. It's about LeBron blaming the other players instead of asserting himself as the Top Dog, in which he should do. He cant "make them better", but he can lead them as a leader, and for alot of people, leading by example > leading vocally.

He's currently putting up 40% FG, 21 ppg, 7 rebs, 5 assts, 1.7 steals....but 5 TOs a game as well. He's much better than that and needs to focus on himself before throwing the rest of the team under the bus. He's the Franchise player and has to step up

It keeps the spot up shooters from having to create their own shot, so yea it simplifies the game for that player and keeps the offense in sync. I never said Lebron was the only player that creates these opportunities.

Say for instance Lebron draws Tristan Thompson's man further away from him to block a lane to the basket, that frees up Thompson to catch down low for an open dunk or to grab an offensive board if a shot comes off. Defining roles for your teammates with your playing style simplifies what they have to do on the court. I think that makes Lebron's teammates better so you can agree or disagree, it dont matter. Its convenient to up this thread after Lebron had a bad game.

No, it's not about LeBron having a bad game:ufdup:

It's about LeBron teaming up with another set of players, and they are doing WORSE with him than they were without him.....which makes the statement of him making his teammates better a myth.

Chris Bosh looking nice in Miami, I wonder why?:sas2:

And this thread should be stickied at the top of the coliseum.

Like I said I'd rather he just play his game than trying to show Kyrie & Dion what happens when the ball doesn't move. He can afford to have games like these though because we know he can flip the switch when it matters. The other guys cant so he's proving a point....I don't agree with this form of leadership but the bottom line is that its early as fukk and the team is learning.

The down right truth to this thread is the fact that Bron SERIOUSLY NEEDS to be in complete control of the offense to be able to put his imprint on it, if not, you are minimizing what he can do :yeshrug:. He could EASILY fix this by working on playing without the ball like Wade did (Wade has led all guards in scoring off of off the ball cuts over the last 4 years, and 4 seasons prior to Bron being there) but if he aint got the rock he aint gone do shyt and that's why I never liked his game. Its a MUST that everybody he plays with has to adjust their games to play with him, while he will not adjust anything to play with them. Kyrie is a good enough ballhandler to get Bron good looks, but Bron would rather do it himself. K Love is a good enough passer to get Bron good looks, but Bron would rather do it by himself.

I don't know rather to call it a bad thing or just a situational thing cause it got Miami 2 rings, but I don't think that Heat team ever MAXIMIZED their talents because of this issue. Its kinda hard to comprehend if you are not a hardcore bball watcher, but its something that is very visible.
