Had an interview last week and I was told I got this job with a paralegal...and I was supposed to start today. Yet today, I have received no input via phone or internet from them.

Sorry for making a thread like this but I am so mad I could literally just break everything in my bedroom right now. It seems my roommates have no problems finding jobs with honest employers that won't jerk them, but everytime I find a job where I think it might be profitable/fruitful it just ends up being a) a scam (worked for a security company that promised work placement but only took $400 from me for three useless certifications, worked for a timeshare company answering phones and only made $240 total in comision) b) complete BS (I worked for a "marketing company" selling escos door to door only to get jerked by my bosses and had to fight it out with them just to get $220).

I've searched damn near everywhere for a job and no one wants to hire me. fukk! I hate this sh!t.

Don't get discouraged. Keep trying, you will find a job.

I spent over 8 months looking for a job. After a while I was really down on myself, I felt like I spent all that time/money going to college just to end up working at Wal mart or something. And just at the point where I wanted to give up I was offered the job I got now.

There's a lot of competition out there these days. You have to keep in mind that your competing with people who are much more qualified than you. One day you'll walk into that perfect situation. Until then all you can do is keep trying.

Shoot me your Skype info via PM. I can help you find out what's wrong and how you can fix it.

I'm an expert.

Have you tried looking out of state?

Go wherever this shyt takes you especially if you have a degree

I have a degree and it was the reason I went out of state to NY. I like it here too much to leave now. I'd rather try to get a job going here, make my money, then try to expand my options.

Put in 6 apps per posting, and apply to at least 10 a day. You will get hired

That's actually how I got my last job. I just went on NY craigslist and just sent a mass e-mail out to 50 apps I saw with my resume and just switched up the header and e-mail address when appropriate. So, this does work.

Yeah man it's really bad out here.

My mother in law has 15 years of managerial experience in a bank. She was layed off a couple months ago and she's out looking for a job now and she will be lucky to land a teller position.

Now that just takes the teller position off the market for the people that should qualify for it. I'd bet your in the same position. It's not that you're not qualified or good enough, it's that the job market is so bad that you don't stand a chance against people that shouldn't even be applying for the same job as you.
