What do you believe accepted by the mainstream means?
Imo it doesn't mean not popular, doesn't mean not widespread, it simply means what will be met with the least amount of revulsion in the widest spread if places to me, what will reach children as the least acceptable dogma through institutions, what will cause the least PR disasters, etc etc.
Trumps election doesn't change the fact that his and republican rhetoric fits that category, and that category is where things either go to die, or foster until it reaches a boiling point.
Homophobia is now in that category, and as a result, unlike racism which has its hands in many more pots than homophobia, it will be snuffed out (never completely) much easier.
Nothing "tumblr" about that, is saying that conservatives and other groups can recontextuialize racism in different ways to continue the fight much easier than conservatives can do with homophobia wrong?
And there's nothing hypocritical about my usage of that site, no more hypocritical than me using this one.

Gay isn't contagious so there is no harm in a kid seeing this. Most kids will have a friend that has unconventional parents in real life.

Are you ok with them teaching your little child how to have gay sex in sex ed? You are fine with them showing graphic depictions of gay sex and teaching their techniques and then handing out free condems and lube to your child without your permission? Cause thats exactly what they are doing in some schools already.
Well from what I know they don't show any depictions of graphic sex hetero, or otherwise, and from a health/reproductive standpoint there would be no need to talk about anal sex other than the dangers that are involved with it.
If a school is showing/teaching graphic depictions of anal sex then passing out lube my kids wouldn't be going to that school.
Where did you hear of this? What schools are doing it?

They Dont ever talk about about the dangers of anal sex though. Thats part of the problem. They are trying to push the gay lifestyle as healthy and normal when its not. Thats not hating on gays.. its jist the truth. No medical professional would advocate sticking anything up your anus. You always hear about straight female porn stars end up needing surgery for engaging in that activity as well. It also contributes to why the majority of those with HIV are also homosexuals. So why does the media pretend this is normal healthy behavior?
They already pass out free condems in school. Bu supporting the normalization of the gay lifestyle what did you think you were supporting? Google the schools now adding gay lifestyles to their sex ed curriculum and lie about how healthy it is. If you claim you support gay rights then this is the nonsense you are supporting.

The effort is more to stop the hate and misunderstanding of the lifestyle so that gay people can live happy and free of persecution
No it's not normal or healthy per se. But it's definitely not as bad and damaging as many people would say it is. And it is actually more beneficial for society as a whole for them to be out and open without fear of persecution, as opposed to what we have now. Again, you can't catch gay, so the "normalization" of it has no ill effect on heterosexual people.
I've read over my daughter reproductive health curriculum, and sexuality is a totally different section. Homosexuality isn't even mentioned in the reproductive health section.
It's mentioned in talks about tolerance and understanding other cultures/lifestyles and they don't even talk about anal sex.

You might want to go back and re-read your own stories
The first one was a one time incident that was called a mistake and removed from the curriculum before any students saw it.
The second one it wasn't a case of it being a part of the curriculum. It was a question asked by a student and answered by the principle which led to a conversation about homosexuality in the context of AIDS and other STDs. So this was the case of an educator talking about the dangers of anal sex, something you said would never happen. I do think 5th grade is too early for a discussion about AIDS and STDs, but if they are gonna have that convo there's no need to leave homo sex out.
3rd story is highschool kids, and homosexuality is only mentioned as a sexual preference/lifestyle choice. It has absolutely nothing to do with anal sex.
Not one of these stories is a case of young kids being shown graphic anal sex then handed lube after class
