Animal diets are all culturally subjective at the end of the day. The only thing most people have a problem with is them(far easterners) is eating dogs and cats, because those animals weren't originally domesticated for the purpose of providing food unlike most other domestic livestock animals, like even horses were. Especially wolves/dogs, which were domesticated specifically to be companions to humans.

Here they probably should just wack the rats head on the concrete to knock them unconscious first before boiling them to make the process more humane.
