I've gotten the response of "you sound white", "you talk proper", even "you sound, educated". So many people are used to hearing the ghetto slang that is portrayed all the time they look when they hear something different. Whenever I hear "you don't sound black" I always hit them with "what are black people supposed to sound like?" then the convo takes a whole different direction and they usually back out before they put their foot all the way in their mouth.
