Above the fray.
barksdale and stanfield war started because fruit lied

when he approached marlo and marlo said his numbers was down fruit said it was because of barksdale’s people when it was really bc he was hustling off the package he stole from cutty
This doesn't make any sense. If he got free packs of dope, that would have made it easier to pay off what he had to Marlo. Fruit knew who he worked for, and the penalty for shorting Marlo.

Showdown between the two organizations was inevitable, had nothing to do with that.

That Corner show was so depressing. I wanna watch it again, but it had me sad af. Almost reminds me of a Donald Goines novel.

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven

I think he's right though.. If he got a free pack, he wouldn't be short.. So why was he short? If he told Marlo what he did, then Marlo would be like "you short but you did give me that free pack the other day"

Season 5 was basically the prequel to Season 1 on the slick.

Randy - Bodie
Dukie - Bubs
Michael - Omar
Naymond - Stringer (kind of)

I don’t know about Randy and Namond. Randy is just one of many angry kids with a traumatic childhood. He used to be a nice kid and has become a bully because he got bullied at the group home. Namond isn’t cut out for the drug business and also has good parental figures to help him from straying. He did make that comment that Clay Davis said “I’ll take any MF’s money if he’s giving it away”, but I don’t know if he’s supposed to be like Clay. I think that S5 scene with Namond just shows the contrast between him and his friends Mike, Randy, and Dukie.

Sydnor is definitely following the cycle and becoming like McNulty.

I always thought
Namond Brice = D'Angelo Barksdale

Both were smarter than their peers.
Namond did his thing in school and D'Angelo always had something to teach the knuckle heads in the pit.

D'Angelo was raised by uncle Avon...a much fiercer gangster whom he shared a surname with...and nothing else
Namond was born to Weebay...a much fiercer gangster whom he shared a surname with...and nothing else

Both have mother's who are a major part of them going down the wrong path

Now...I wanna say Brianna wasn't as bad as De'londa
But she did manipulate Dee into taking them years :snoop:

Only difference is Namond had Colvin to care about him

And like McNulty said..... "I was just looking for someone who cared about the kid"

Namond = D'Angelo

The a$$hole cop Walker from season 4 that broke Donut's fingers

I didn't realize he was also in season 2, when they go to bust in on McNulty with the prostitutes, he was the overzealous cop that wanted to just barge in and Bunk had to slow him down.

That's why when Bodie references him to McNulty in the sandwich shop Mcnulty says "Walker's an a$$hole"

Mcnulty pulls that cop's card an episode earlier. Cop gets robbed and punked by the kids in retaliation for Donut. His bytch ass makes up a story to next day about getting jumped / car vandalized by gang members. So the cops are on the warpath that day. Mcnulty hears the bullshyt story he tells about being targeted by "bloods" and pulls his card about it being BS.

Bodie is ducking the streets that day because he sees the cops are on some rah rah shyt over Walker's story.

LOL yep! Which also brought credence to the rumor that if they did a season 6 of the Wire, they planned to be focused on Gangs in Baltimore.
