When Cheese loses the dogfight, it's implied that the other dog owner cheated.
Either they never explained how, or it went over my head and people who fight pits caught it.

The trainer for Cheese spotted an oily rag on the ground, but after the match was already over.

Dog fighters are known to apply oils to their dogs as it prevents other dogs from getting a decent grip. It's very unethical in the dogfighting world (oh, the irony).

I never really gave much thought to why Snoop asked Mike how her hair looked.

I watched the scene again the other day and I think she wanted to feel like a feminine woman at least for a moment before she died. And that's why Mike said "you look good girl".

I took that as her not really caring about life like that. So when she was confronted with certain death she wasn't really tripping. The last thing a person that cares about living is gonna be worried about is how they look in that situation.

Yeah I agree, I know she wasn't scared of death. It's just the way they wrote that scene and Mike saying "you look good girl". I don't think she was referred to as a girl the whole series except for this scene.

She could have said anything like "fukk you get it over with" or anything else but she asked how her hair looked.
