To the unintelligent who who are SEEKING out things to be offended by, sure.

But to paraphrase, he said that Italian-Americans, Chinese-Americans etc have an identity in America because they "know where they are from" and invited African-Americans to come back to Africa.

While I don't agree with this notion because AfrAms have a very unique identity, he wasn't trying to be disparaging. He's just never grown up in the States so he's speaking on an issue he doesn't really have knowledge of.

I was being flip earlier, but I have a little more time to address this... gaslighting.

1. If he don't know shyt about the states, shouldn't he stfu on our business?

2. No, he said they have a "base" bc they know where their grandparents came from. So do I. Not to mention, unlike either of the groups he named, we've been here since the 1700's.

3. I don't have to seek it. I have never purposefully listened to music made by this man, barely know who he is, but somehow, he keeps infiltrating my space (and my damn business).

In my way of thinking the answer is yes, but White English musicians have been stealing African American culture too. So I can't fault an African for doing it too.

He's not. They are intentionally misrepresenting what he said.

I think last year he did a quick interview where he said other groups in America can't compare their struggles to African Americans because they have a base/know exactly where they come from. He said African Americans are at a disadvantage because we don't have that base like Chinese, Italians etc.. have.

They are taking that as him saying, "Black people have no culture"
