On Bruce and Alonso
The problem here is that Bruce isn't a good OF either. He's a DH at this point of his career and he can't hit. He's utterly useless.
Demoralized him like they did Dom Smith.

If this is all it takes to demoralize him, he can kick rocks. I hope it pisses him off and he plays with a chip on his shoulder. Up the skills, play angry, and make them call you up.

I think barring a catastophic september fall off, deGrom winning the Cy. Honestly dont think the win loss will hurt him.
In regards to Alonso, I still think we may see him in Sept. Flores has been unable to finish the season due to random injuries for back to back seasons. Dom Smith is clearly having one of those years where everything that can go wrong, is going wrong for him. Jay Bruce won't last as a starting 1B 5 days a week, no matter how hard this organization is trying to force it on him.
Plus how often have the Mets said one thing only for the contrary to manifest itself, just this season alone.
