Matz and Wheeler are legit 3/4 in the rotation under Callaway and Eiland. I don't trade them if you want to compete in 2019. Improve the bullpen and get durable, competent bats.

Callaway overmanaged the game yet again. All Star break begins Monday and goes through Thursday. Why would you take Lugo out for a bad Swarzak? Makes no sense how bad he is at these situations.

Alonso is struggling in Vegas. He's hitting 190 in an offense friendly league.

DeGrom's agent is doing his job. He said the Mets should trade him now or give him an extension.
As much as I don't want to see DeGrom go, now would be the time to trade him for an offer that can't be refused. I don't trust the team that picked Jay Bruce over J.D. Martinez to rapidly improve themselves before DeGrom hours free agency. Move him, Fam, Wheeler, Cabrera, and reload.
We can have a nice little core with Thor, Matz, Nimmo, Amed, Comfort. We can build on that an should be able to compete
