chris killed dude because HE wanted to[DOUBLEPOST=1397316280][/DOUBLEPOST]sopranos threads
always struck me how the sons of such dynamic leaders (jackie jr and aj) came off as weak/soft/stupid. obv we didnt see much of jackie aprile but he was a fukkin boss from the way they talked about him
Chris didn't want to kill dude. He wanted to avenge his father's honor. He was torn as to whether he should kill the guy or not because he wasn't sure that he was in fact avenging his father's honor or if he was just doing some random killing for Tony. In the end, he figured out that it didn't even matter because he would never know if the guy indeed killed his father and would have to kill the guy anyway just because Tony said so.
In the show, the writers had the sons of these mafia bosses appear weak to show that the actions of these mafia bosses are unjustified. You could say they engaged in criminal activity to help their children and their families, but in the end the families only capitalized on the money and not the honor or the way of life. AJ and Jackie Aprile were both just spoiled brats who could careless what their fathers had to do to achieve their positioning in the world. In effect, this weakened the principles of the mafia.
