I'm embracing a winning strategy. How does trading Wop for spare parts and a 2nd round pick make us a better team? :gucci:

It's like I said in the group chat man, it's about retooling. I know you don't believe the team as constructed this past year was a championship level team. Bringing Dwight back would've been questionable in my eyes, because even if he played out his deal, we still ain't beating Cleveland. We had no backup PG, no wing other than THJ who could create their own shot, no backup rim protector, plus one of the WOAT contracts in the league in Bazemore. We knew this team was destined for a 1st-2nd rd flameout. I really don't know what you want, this team is at a retool phase, not add a piece or two and win a ring phase.

"One step back to take two steps forward"

Step back, take your emotions out of the move and think longterm, BIG PICTURE. Schlenk was around GSW when they were trash, middling in the playoffs, and when they won, I trust what he has in mind for this squad.

Yeah it's time we stop kicking the van down the street when it comes to retooling. Dennis, THJ and Prince are solid young players who'll be decent enough to watch in the interim

Of course the ATL
I don't get the tank talk.

Scrhorder/THJR/Prince prolly good enough for atleast a 8th seed :francis:

That's assuming THJR returns. Even if you brought Sap back this team would have to bust its ass to be an 8 seed. This isn't a playoff team right now

I want what Danny Ferry built: A competitive team that remained flexible via smart contracts and good trades. Being bad enough to tank isn't a strategy. So if you want to tear it down to get better through the draft why are you trading your 31st pick to get the 41st pick? If your intent is to get rid of bad contracts, why are you bringing back a bad contract in Miles Plumlee (12.5 per year through 2019-20)? This trade was a net loss on the two things I wanted (being competitive while maintaining cap flexibility), being bad isn't a strategy

I hope this move is signaling that the team is going to rebuild because if not :hhh:

Losing the 31st pick isn't worth getting rid of Howard. Attaching that to Bazemore would have made more sense. Might as well hold on to Howard another year because the Center position is ass now. They have to be targeting one of the 5's at 19 and even then I don't see Patton, Allen or whoever producing right away.

Makes me think they are rebuilding which I'm fine with. Been waiting for it to happen for years.
