If the students were serious about their disdain for the rule, they could have organized and done something about it but they wanted to have it both ways, agree to the the conditions that the principal set only to violate once they've gotten their diplomas. Every graduation I've gone to over the past few years has the same rule. I'm in the south so things may be different in other areas and the kids always violate it.

Almost sounds like it's pointless to try and enforce it as a rule.

I don't think the point of this discussion is to determine whether the cop was doing something within his rights. The outrage is why won't schools allow dancing and why do they need cops to yank graduates up?

Because the dancing and choreography holds up the event. When people are screaming because one kid is juking it up you can’t hear the name of the next kid to walk across the stage. So either your kid walks across the stage and you can’t hear their name being called or you turn a 2 hour event into 4 hours waiting on everyone to calm down between names. At every graduation I’ve been to they have told people to hold the celebrating till the end so everyone can hear their name.

Another factor is often schools hold these events and rented facilities. They have graduations one after another so you can’t risk one going an hour over and pushing back the next graduation.

I knew it would be nigras just from the title.
Look at these little minstrels :scust: . Cant wait to celebrate after all of the names are called out of respect for others or even just do a little bit on the way back to their seat…gotta shuck and jive like c00ns.

Because there's no harm in dancing at a graduation. The rule shouldn't exist and I'll continue to say that.

The rule exists and as many people have stated, it's so the event can proceed according to a schedule. In my experience, these larger venues typically host multiple graduations in the same day. The only way this is possible is because of careful planning. I get your point that dancing doesn't hurt anyone but the rule is in place for a reason. The planning does account for student celebration, it's precisely why the families and students are asked to wait until the end of the ceremony to celebrate all of the students simultaneously.

Rhythmless nikkas in they feelings as always
The fact that some of y'all really believe these attention seeking dances are a perfect representation of blackness instead of being emblematic of the single mother generation is worrying.

Kids in Africa/Asia ain't doing these over-elaborate ass routines on stage when they graduate. Why? Because they actually respect male authority and professionalism is demanded there.

It ain't really hard to abide by the school's rules and then let loose at the hundreds of other graduation parties after.

The students seemed pretty prepared to get kicked out to me.

This is the only school I've seen with cops doing this at a graduation. That's probably why a lot of people [not attending this school] are the ones shocked.

I respect this. If you're prepared to deal with the consequences of your actions then do as you please.

Myself and my own.
I'm rather surprised more people aren't commenting on how extra the police was with some of the students. It looked like he was outright ready to body slam some of those kids. The way he grabbed that one kid and seemed to be scolding him harshly surprised me. I can see why that one teacher was pressed with him, let alone the person recording. He legit seemed pissed as fukk with these kids and shouldn't have been there. Breh was an incident waiting to happen smh.

So fukking what, they have not only capstoned 13 years of education but their family celebrates as well! Let them have their time in the sun, it’s a once in a lifetime feeling. Only thing I’m opposed to is throwing up gang signs and city girl type twerking. Everybody gets their 15-20 second claim to fame
Breh them school pay these venues for a time slot for these.abu time they go over they gotta cover that as well too. I get people excited but if a majority are trying to make sure they're the main focus and out do everyone else that celebrates you can see how the school has to call in backup. Just get your degree and keep it pushing you can celebrate when you leave. But that's the issue everytime you try to instill order and discipline there's someone trying to make excuses. Then you play confused when these folks out here wilding and not following rules. You've told them since they were young that they don't apply to them and they're special...

That dancing shyt after getting your diploma is buffoonish.

They should put everyone’s diploma on their seats and read the graduation speech and have everyone celebrate and dance at the end. That way there i no more clout chasing on the stage.

I hate that shyt. Dudes and bytches be having full blown dance routines, it’s inconsiderate and c00nish.

But the no dancing rule did exist.

According to the woman filming this video, the principal warned kids that if they danced, they'd be sent to sit with their parent and go home.
Yeap but people in here making excuses for them like usual. But again some of these folks were also defending the kid that got her phone took too like she wasn't in the wrong. If people truly disagreed with the rule how about don't show up and they'll send the degree in the mail. But they chose to thumb their nose at the rule even when they knew there was a consequence and cry foul. Ain't nobody out there a victim they all free willed and able bodies adults

I hate that nikkas have dug in so deep on the ignorant opinion that as long as no laws are broken anything goes at all times.

No you don’t need to be dancing at the graduation and you don’t need to be twerking during brunch. :stopitslime:
