But the no dancing rule did exist.

According to the woman filming this video, the principal warned kids that if they danced, they'd be sent to sit with their parent and go home.

I don't think the point of this discussion is to determine whether the cop was doing something within his rights. The outrage is why won't schools allow dancing and why do they need cops to yank graduates up?

This mindset creates dystopias. Just because it's a rule / law doesn't make it right.

Breh its insane how you have to explain this to people.

Its funny

People going on and on about “cancel culture” and all this silly shyt but when the everyday person, when something that transcends all faucets of humanity in this case dancing is met with “rules is rules” as if these kids is causing chaos its just disheartening

anarchy
ăn′ər-kē
noun
Absence of any form of political authority.
Political disorder and confusion.
Absence of any cohesive principle, such as a common standard or purpose.

This is an exaggeration if I ever seen one, especially in the case of black Americans graduating from high school.

People are in here wondering how or why the police got involved when it's quite clear what the order of events was. A rule was set by the principal and the students violated it to the degree that law enforcement stepped in.

If you disagree with a rule why would you violate said rule and then be surprised when the violation is met with consequences.

Above the fray.
There was another thread about teens dancing at graduation this year. I noted that almost their full high school years occurred under the pandemic. And that if there's ever a class that they need to let live and just celebrate life and the milestone, it's the Class of 2023.

The students seemed pretty prepared to get kicked out to me.

This is the only school I've seen with cops doing this at a graduation. That's probably why a lot of people [not attending this school] are the ones shocked.

You would've thought the kids brought guns and started shooting at the ceiling like it was the wild west or something based on these reactions.

Let's play devil's advocate... We see black graduations all the time doing the absolute most. These events are timed and scheduled. All the dancing and attention seeking holds everything and everyone up... The school probably has to pay the venue for violating time limit (maybe).. but we see this shyt happening at damn near every other celebratory black event. We can celebrate without always overdoing it. I'm sure the cop is there cuz the school got tired of the bs
Why am I agreeing with you for the first time ever?

:ohhh:

If the students were serious about their disdain for the rule, they could have organized and done something about it but they wanted to have it both ways, agree to the the conditions that the principal set only to violate once they've gotten their diplomas. Every graduation I've gone to over the past few years has the same rule. I'm in the south so things may be different in other areas and the kids always violate it.
