You (alleged) Dem shills always try to deflect and act like it's one or the other, and that's not how it works. Just because the Repubicans are flagrantly evil doesn't make the Dems good. After the Civil Right Bill, they integrated us out of our economy, and it's been all downhill since. Are you people really going to pretend they've done right by Black people? We're dying in the streets left and right, but the Asians cried about "racism" for 20 minutes and got money and a hate crime bill, while we've been shyt on for CENTURIES. Asians don't vote in general, and not nearly as overwhelmingly Democrat. I'm not even Reparations or Nothing, but I demand POLICY. You talk about me paying lip service, but lip service is all we get from the Democratic Party. I'll ask you like I ask everyone else, how do we win voting blind Dem when they haven't even promised us anything tangible? "But Trump/Republican Boogeyman" and "lesser of two evils" are not answers. Give me a logical answer and I'll concede. Hasn't happened yet...
1. You're still talking about something wholly unrelated to the topic. Which is voter's rights. Regardless of any other issue, there are clear differences and laws in place between Red and Blue states on this one. But I respect the debate, so I'll keep going.
2. Median Household income for African American's is around 50k (that's 20k lower than national average). Not perfect, not great. But in 1990 that was around 35k adjusted for inflation. So across the board African Americans are making more money than they did 30 years ago. Mostly because of educational attainment aka federal loan plans/Pell Grants and reduction of discriminatory hiring practices. All of those being leftist policies. Also, African American women have attained more degrees than any other cohort in America over the past 15 years. But I forgot, women's accomplishments don't count.
3. Asians do vote...what is this statistic coming from? But there are flat out LESS Asian people than black/latino people. Going after their vote like that isn't the most efficient use of resources. Also, they have become MOSTLY democratic over the past 30 years.
4. You demand policy? Let's see....I'll keep it to the past 15 years or so.
- ACA (Obamacare)
- The Student Loan Forgiveness Act
- Pardoning Federal Marijuana Convictions
- Emmitt Till Anti-Lynching Act
- FOSTA-SESTA (which made the facilitation of sex trafficking online federal crime. And who were the largest cohort of people trafficked at the time? Black women.)
The problem is BECAUSE of racism in this country, bills that would single handedly benefit black people are dead on arrival. Not acknowledging this is simply living in la-la land. However, there's many laws and acts put in place that SPECIFICALLY targeted black people without saying so.
For instance, with Loan forgiveness, Pell Grant recipients get an extra 10k knocked off their bill...and who were the people that mostly got Pell Grants? BLACK PEOPLE.
Stop thinking the only "policy" wins are ones that put money in your pocket. That's not the objective of a functioning government. I'm not caping for the US government or anything. I'm merely saying, the notion that black people (and really MOST people) are not in a better place than they were 30-40 years ago is simply untrue. And MOST of that comes from VOTING.
