John Morrison was a multiple world champion in different promotions, including Impact. He was also AAA's first Triple Crown champion (while holding the belts simultaneously) and Lucha Underground's second Triple Crown champion.
You can only consider that a failure if you are a shill who believes that the WWE world championship is the only belt that matters, but even in WWE he still had more accomplishments than most guys on the list above. One time ECW champion, three time IC champion plus the tag team championships.

His in-ring work was spoken about the same way Cena's was with the 5 moves of doom, but I wouldn't say he sucked.
Only complaint i can remember about Rocks in ring work was his sharpshooter..

He actually did, but nobody counted on him (as a face) being absolutely terrible at promos. He was embarrassing on a Ted Dibiase Jr level. But that's another indictment on the WWE, Morrison was a CLEAR heel at the time as far better at promos as a heel. I don't think it was until years later out of the WWE he became alright with face promos.
