You're crazy as fukk is you think black women would've voted for Obama if Michelle were white.

Just to be clear, Michelle is not the reason Obama was President. Yes people loved Michelle but Obama got in that White House because he has a serious gift of gab and sold everyone on “hope” and dreams. Do not dismiss his campaign run full of great promise and excellent speeches.

In the sky
Y'all are mad that we are calling people out for masquerading behind blackness. And WE must call out this bullshyt. America is attempting to feign progress by saying these so called Black people have been elected and we pretend they have provided opportunities for "African"-Americans to advance in this society. When these people are actual foreigners and some of them are not BLACK whatsoever. And some of them have no interest in justice for BLACK folks. Kamala Harris is one of them. So I dont want US to go getting behind them just because the media is promoting them as BLACK, and they are running this sham....

And Our interests don't align anyway. Our culture is not the same. And WE are allowed to question that, because we need to know who she is. She might be Rachel Dolezaling us lowkey. Ow I went to Howard, I pledged a historically black sorority, so now Im black. Im blacking it up. Im not Indian now

They think all WE folks are ignorant and want us to believe that Jamaican means BLACK..haha. alas it does not....They trying to pull a fast one. Y'all know its Chinese, Brits(Anglos, Scots, Welsh, Irish etc), Dutch, Indians(Bharata), and some others and then there's the ACTUAL BLACK Jamaicans (be they aborigine or african in origin). NOT ALL Jamaicans are black. And since when have Indians (people of Bharata) been black people? And y'all know WTF I mean when I say BLACK.

So just because she says she's indian and jamaican, dont means she's BLACK. Just be Indian and Jamaican American, and stop ja faking. I smell bacon

@Reece I don't understand what you are arguing and why it bothers you that black Americans want to define themselves like every other group does. you are making nonsensical arguments.

Black Americans have 500+ years of entrenched history in the US, a Nigerian/Ghanian/Jamaican/etc...have no claim to the history that they have built prior to immigration of foreign black groups.

Second; Kamala Harris isn't black, her dad is indo-jamaican perhaps mixed with a splash of black blood at best. I don't know why some black people want her to make her black so bad. Besides she has no rooted history in the US. It is time for black Americans to call for black American leaders to speak on their behalf.

Black Americans are not unique, if a British immigrant came up in politics and started to be representative of the country white America would have a problem with that too. People prefer politicians that share a history with them that can represent them and lead them to their desired objectives. Black Americans are not unique in that.

Its funny that some African posters on here want to wag their fingers at AADOS but can't seem to address/sort out the tribalism in their respective countries. Please, I hate hypocrisy, I am glad Black Americans are waking that everybody black ish don't work and is counterproductive.

Foreigner blacks who are truly aligned with Black Americans support this movement because they know it's to their benefit to do so and create an alliance for each respective group to make gains rather than tear each other down.

Where in my post below did I define MY culture as music? You are making up statements to argue with yourself. I used hip hop as an example. I can school you on the food you eat, clothes you wear, history of leadership and more. You are not educated enough to have this discussion cause you dont even know your own history and the influences of black american culture. There are regional differences in culture. The black American experience is not monolithic. New York ados dont automatically relate to country southern ados. Do you automatically relate to the gullah people cause your ados? I'm sure you don't speak creole but they are closer to their slave lineage than you.

There are overarching cultural norms of the black experience that transcend region and location. And you will be hard pressed to find any of those black cultural norms that havent been influenced in some way by non ados black Americans. That includes "black" music, food, etc...

Still no receipts for these claims.

The only reason people are mentioning racism is because Donald Trump Jr. said that Harris isn't black enough to discuss the plight of black people.

Donald trump Jr right now

I didn't dismiss anything. What I said is the truth. You're stupid if you think black women would've voted for Obama had he married a white women. His speeches and how he ran his campaign wouldn't have mattered if Michelle were white.

You clowns stay tryna use these straw man deflections. It's c00n shyt because you got it from white people.

Many parts. I don't know what non-ADOS do. But again - they are elements of our culture -- that we do not share with others. If you are not ADOS - then you don't get that. It's things we do - that others do not do. It's things we eat - others do not eat.

You think our culture is just music -- and it's not.

Lol where do yall come up with this shyt from?

I’m black and Indian like Kamala Harris (Bermudian and Guyanese) and I can assure you that there wasn’t some secret black American culture and food that black descendants of slaves didn’t share with us :dead:

Do yall even leave the house? People have fluid overlapping layers of identity and children of black immigrants were always historically considered black and grew up with a sense of themselves as black.

If you want to start redefining blackness in 2019 you can try and see if it sticks, but you can’t retroactively tell people who have always been black their blackness is now revoked. :camby:

I guess Malcolm X didn’t have a full black experience cause him mom was from Grenada.

It’s also not a coincidence that he’s half white and they made sure to let white folk know he was raised in Hawaii by a white woman and he wasn’t some south side Chicago negroe

Genetics aside

She acts like a white women doing her best to pander to black people. She has come across awkwardly foreign to black culture at times and it’s cringy

People are making this about everything else but what it's really about. This is about a White race American man questioning the experiences and authenticity of a Black race American woman. Putting her policies and likability aside, what Donald Jr did was problematic and he knows it because he deleted the tweet. Unless Harris is claiming she is ADOS, I dont see what she did wrong. She only talked about her plight as a Black race woman in the USA. She has a right to do that even if she is unlikable or has policies you do not agree with.
