this movie was beyond trash
I think it would be great if, like the puzzles they complete in the film, this movie (and the OG) is but one jigsaw piece that will ultimately fit in to the rest of the overall Cloverfield story. This is what they should be doing with the twilight zone property in film: release a new movie very 2 years with a different creative team telling different stories. The possibilities are endless but apparently, JJ figured it out first

Reading the mixed reviews on this board of both this and The Witch have keyed me in on how many people on here have absolutely no attention span / patience to let a plot carry out that doesn't always involve Michael Bay-like explosions and/or t*ts
My critique of his film review:This is one of the oddest reviews i have ever read
This is exactly why (while I dislike Bay) don't get when others criticize him. Because I know they don't truly hate him. They just know he sucks because we doAnd yet they all diss Michael bay lol
Plant alertSaw it. fukking LOVED it.
Goodman absolutely carried the film. The way he could flip from his dry humour,to disturbing to child like anger but with a huge frame was spectacular.
Anybody saying this was predictable is lying through their teeth.
I liked the ending personally because it fit the overall style of the film. Best movie Ive watched this year. Cant wait for the third in the anthology.
9/10
No clue breh. But the real question is, would we even have seen it this weekend was it not called cloverfield and just called The Cellar as originally planned?
JJ can market his ass off
