Trailer looks intriguing but the first movie ended up being ass. :francis: Not sure how to feel about this.
Cloverfield was pure ass, this has John Goodman in it so at least it certainly will be less ass, but I still see no reason to believe this will be anything but ass.
The motion sickness alone fukked up my viewing experience :gag:

Looks neat. But, Cloverfield might be the most overhyped flick by nerds that I can think of. Saw it in the movies, liked it but never felt it should have a sequel. Unless the monster is still rampaging across the globe since it seemed indestructible. That can get old or better depending on how they approach it. This looks interesting however.
this is probably a prequel. The movie has a retro look judging by the trailer

I Love Cloverfield 1 because the the camera angles tricks your brain by thinking it's real ,,," when they were in that helicopter looking down at the monster than that motherfukker jumped up in the air" that shyt was crazy..
Cloverfield 1 is almost looking at video at liveleaks.com or something for me .

Plus I'm a sucker for dystopian, post apocalyptic movies.

I actually saw "Cloverfield" opening weekend with some friends. Out of the whole group I was the only one that liked it. One of my friends even vomited because the shaky camera in the theater was crazy. I liked the concept of there was something about a movie where all hell breaks loose. The movie did have flaws but the marketing campaign was crazy. You didn't even know the title till it was about to come out. It was marketed as "1-18-08" so I'm not surprised by the marketing campaign here. So JJ used Star Wars and Trek and was doing this on the downlow. I see you JJ, lol. Good trailer, liked the suspense of it and the guessing game. But JJ please with the spin.

This is clearly "Cloverfield 2". LOL @ "Blood relative", JJ needs to stop this mystery box. Why even call it "10 Cloverfield Lane" if it's not a sequel? Even when you see the title you see "CLOVERFIELD" before 10 and Lane gets filled in. Obviously "Cloverfield" is the code name the government uses for exterrestial cases. So this movie is another case we will be seeing. Obviously the monsters are probably what's outside but who knows if it's nuclear or chemical attack maybe outside is also unhabitable as well. So it will be a big build up to them going outside. It was done on a 5 million budget so that lets me know a lot of it will take place in the underground bunker. This is obviously the after effects of the nuclear attack on monsters. I'm thinking this takes place not long after the attack on New York.

Seems like more of a sequel in the aftermath of the first. First you think Goodman is nuts and has these two kidnapped in his bunker, then as they escape they realize he was trying to protect them from the creatures/the world is no more.

With the small budget Im expecting something similar to the giant alien film Monsters that came out around the same time as original Cloverfield. Probably build up to a few scenes of huge monster effects and the rest takes place in the bunker.

Everything is a remix..............

The clip reminds me of the film "The Divide" minus the creepy crawler.

I loved Cloverfield but this bullshyt sequel is sounding like fan exploitation.

IMO the series should stick to its original premise.

The premise being that the department of defense is documenting the NY attack and recovering evidence for research.
The footage of the first film is just one of many pieces of evidence.
The viral marketing had sonar footage, seismic information, pics of the parasites being dissected in labs etc

Anyways the fallout from the event would be interesting to follow.
What if the monster's species has a thousand years hibernation cycle and were in their active period?
Would all major coastal cities face mandatory evacuation?
In the future would there be seismic warnings for future attacks?
Has the government found their nest?

I tried watching the first one again a few months back and couldn't even finish it. I remember watching it in the theater and thought it was all right.

I don't think John GOATman could get me to watch this. I'll wait for reviews.

You are right on Rapmastermind ,, I just read the wiki :(
they guy at screenrant.com was also right about it being a " canned indie movie that wasn’t going to see the light of day'
