In some ways, OP is correct. The Digital Revolution has IMO hit its peak and most of the innovations are geared toward offloading existing technologies to cloud platforms to relax costs, improve form factor, miniaturize, automate and scale digital products.

Regarding CRISPR, isn't the technology pretty old like 1980s tech? I remember learning about it in grade 12 biology back in 2010.

That coupled with robots and automation as the last steps towards AI running everything for us (and then eventually against us ) we haven’t seen the best of technology yet but it’s certainly around the corner. I think the very last step for humanity would be downloadable conscious so we technically can live forever inside robots if we chose to. We “might” hit thatphase in our lifetimes but it’s going to be super late in our life spans if/when that happens.
