these folks are gnostic, basically the material world is evil and full of evils and that only the world of spirit world or non physical world is where the good is( think plato) so cyberspace and VR are extensions of this dream, leaving the physical world and living in all sprit.
Movies like Lawnmower man 2 show what i mean( horrible film) ready player one ect show how in the not so distant future living in the VR would be better than the real world. Since the world will be shytty or shyttier than it is now , the only place to go and experience nervana would be the cyber/virtual world. Where u can create an avatar and literally be who u wanna be. if ur ugly in real life , but on the net or in VR u can look like denzel
or halley. etc....... having an avatar is or online persona in this version of the internet , once internet 3.0 drops u will be able to have digital representations of yourself in VR..( ironically the new agers call the Christ the avatar lol)
Whats happening now with this gen and the one after is the gamification of society

movies like gamer and again player ready one exemplify what i mean. so basically they want to live in VR and as a tool of salvation from this cruel world. It connects with the obsession of these folks and uploading consciousness to a machine, they wanna exist in cyberspace. westworld is also perfect if u wanna understand they way they think. everything will be digital.money work and eventually u lol
ohh i also think non humans entities may be able to manifest in this non physical realm
i mean u can also read their books if nikkas want more scholarly work but they do manifest their ideas through entertainment
so easier for the average folk to digest if u gamify it lol or put it in film
