Just watched the movie again and to be honest they are terrible. From the way his strength was shown on screen to the way he moved it was definitely a downgrade from what he was shown as in Civil War. His first fight with Killmonger should have been unbelievable and the final fight should have been epic. Bare in mind him and Killmonger are two Captain America level fighters with the heart shaped herb granting them super human abilities. Four years after Winter Soldier the fights should only look to be improving not getting worst. Also they need to get rid of that kinetic energy bullshyt as he is to reliant on that. He should move sleek and fast as well as deadly.

Civil war fight scenes

This Black Panther would murk both the Black Panther and Killmonger in Cooglers movie.

This nikka was a badass in Civil War “move captain I won’t ask a second time” “I don’t care”:wow:he’ll if we are being honest we all going to act like the costume in Civil War wasn’t better? :usure:

Black Panther fight scenes

The final fight scene was trash as fukk, nothing epic about it. This is not a fight scene you go back to years later talking about how amazing it is.

Even without the heart shaped herb T’Challa should still be able to fight better than this. As the herb didn’t grant him fighting abilities.

Again nothing exciting about this, yes it was tense due to Killmonger winning and ultimately seemingly killing T,Challa but in this scene they should have highlighted Killmonger fighting prowess to the extreme and that he is a beast of a diffrent kind.

Don’t get me wrong I loved the movie just think they need to step the fight scenes up in the sequel and ensure T,Challa superhuman abilities are displayed in full and less reliance on the suit kinetic energy rubbish.

The final conflict between Erik and T'Challa deserved a much better staged, choreographed, and rendered fight. It deserved a much more imaginative conclusion too. It really does suck that such a brilliant final showdown between cousins, ideologies, and instant classic characters didn't have a set piece that lived up to the weight of the build up and beauty of their final moments together.

I do like the visceral and raw brutality of the waterfall fights. Those didn't need to be sleek or sexy. And I was cool with T'Challa getting his ass kicked. This was an emotional ass journey for him and for his first solo outing, I thought emphasizing his vulnerability was fitting.

But that final fight, and even portions of other fights will be the things people look back on and say couldn't keep pace with the top notch acting, music, and writing.

Everyone involved has to step it up for the second one, especially the CGI houses. And you're right that they should stop relying on that kinetic energy blast and make sure his second outing, now firmly established as King, has a lot more bad ass moments like this.

They emphasized his vulnerability while building him up as a man learning to be King in Black Panther 1. Lets emphasize his strength, swagger, and intelligence next.

Movie was going for a Lion King-ish vibe, hyper brutal fight choreography would've ruined that for the majority of the audience.

As opposed to say the Captain America flicks which have an action- thriller tone for the most part, which permits a more grungy flavor of martial arts.

If you notice, the Parts of the movie that are supposed to give you that warm african vibe are in Wakanda, which is the place that all the fight scenes being complained about come from. The action scenes outside wakanda are a little less so.

Personally I think it's fair to compare the fighting style in Civil War to Captain America's fighting style in the Winter soldier and Civil War, and Compare Black Panther's solo flick fighting style to Cap's fighting style in Captain America: The First Avenger.

I agree but think the waterfall fights should also display some type of skill and Martial arts. The Wakandans are miles ahead everyone else it stands to reason they would have a developed and fluid fighting style. I do agree they need to make T’Challa more badass look at the way he fights in the casino fight scene:scust:

He should have been bulldozing through those fodder.

It's the only thing wrong with the film. That cgi looks bad now, imagine how it will look in 10 years. The fight scenes were just poorly done. I knew as soon as that opening fight in the jungle happened it wouldn't be a strength. You couldn't make out a fukking thing happening.

It's a damn shame because if it was better it would make the film that much better and it's already amazing

What about the concept of continuity? We had already seen him handle business in Civil War and have a unique fighting style that had him hold his own against Captain America and win over Bucky. It’s interesting you mention Captain America the first Avenger because this was also addressed by the Russo’s when Cap faces of against Batroc. Up until that point in both his film and the Avengers Cap hadn’t displayed any fighting skills and was heavily dependent on his shield. The Russo’s came in and let the audience know that wasn’t the case by indirectly having Batroc say he was nothing without his shield only for Cap to throw it down and completely knock the shyt out of him.

With Black Panther we have already seen what his capable of so all Coogler needs to do is highlight that more. He should hit the Russo’s up on some “Yo you guys need to hook me up with the choreographer that did Winter Soldier, pronto”.

i look at each movie the same way I look at comic arcs. Same overarching continuity, different writer's voice and different artist. Tonal shifts don't bother me. I'm sure the next one will be a massive upgrade.

The special effects were absolutely disgusting. The final Black Panther/Killmonger fight looks like something out of a PS2 game.

Laura's fight scenes in Logan were better than all the fight scenes in Black Panther combined. :logan2:

Idk about excellent breh. Why didnt they hire the civip war, winter soldier choreographers? They had a 100 mill budget

I don't think those fights needed back flips and boomerang shields and hurricaranas personally.

The up close intimacy of the the close quarters combat was intense AF imo.

Killmonger beating his ass and a powerful moment, and the back and forth battle between him and M'baku was a great start to the movie.

Can't please everyone but since the action and cgi are the two biggest complaints I am confident they will both be addressed heavily in the sequel.

PS2 nikka? They weren't very good but stop gassing please lol. .

Did the special effects take you out of the entire movie or are you referring specially to the last battle?
