There is no JRPG better than Persona 4 (golden)

I just finished the true ending for P4G and my god what a masterpiece Atlus is one of the most underrated gaming companies out there.

I challenge anyone to name a JRPG that is better than P4G because I honestly can't think of any.

Of the PS2 era personally I liked Xenosaga Episode III just as much as Persona 4. Xenosaga Episode III is criminally slept on because you need to play 1 and 2 for it to make sense but to me the soundtrack is better than Persona 4's.

matter of fact the official soundtrack was never made fully available and fans put the game disc in a PC and cracked it to rip some of the songs. nobody is fukking with Xenosaga Episode III's soundtrack. Yuki Kajiura laced that bytch thoroughly with nothing but epic songs.

Episode III is like a love letter to JRPG fans. Episode II was such an epic fukk up because Namco abandoned everything that made people like Episode I including Saga's script and with Episode III the attitude was like we fukked up and we're sorry this time we're gonna do it right. the game did Mass Effect 3's ending better than Mass Effect 3 (and before it) and when it ended i was like damn they gotta make more of these but unfortunately it never well.

on a side note Xenoblade (also by the same developer) is just as good as if not better than Persona 4 to me as well. Lunar The Silver Star Story Complete and Lunar 2: Eternal Blue are on par with Persona 4 also.

Yea Shadow Hearts is dope.

My only real issue with Tales of the Abyss is that the game was 15-20 hours too long. There was a lot of bs put in to pad the hours.

Naw gameplay definitely opens up as you go along. My bigger issue with Chrono Cross was that there were way too many characters.

I will say this Persona 4 might not be the best, but it's def in the top 5 of the PS2 era and I wouldn't argue if someone said #1 .

I would say the only games that are as good if not better would be:

Dragon Quest VIII
Final Fantasy X
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne
Suikoden III

I beat P4G and loved it. Favorite cast of characters, music and story. I even dabbled a bit into the animation because I loved the cast.

I haven't played Xenosaga/Xenoblade yet but so far P4G is my fave JRPG right now.

dont forget legend of legaia maybe not the greatest but was always a favorite of mine battle system, characters, world had everything

None of the next gen jrpgs are topping the last couple of Persona for me personally...FFT is on par, FFIX is closest after that and Lunar: Silver Story is my favorite from the PSOne/Sega Saturn era...but if we go all time, Chrono Trigger is still the undisputed champion imho.
