A lot of people in here didn't think Paranormal Activity was scary?

I think the first one was (all the rest are EHHHHH), but not in the classic sense. I mean, in theatres it had its moments, but I remember I saw it at a theatre hella far away and driving home in the dark, and then walking in my crib at 3 a.m. had me shook. It's one of those that fukk you up afterwards.

Then afterwards you're completely desensitized to the repetitive bullshyt i.e. PA 2,3,4 ...

Paranormal act. did nothing for me. I'll take Blair Witch Project over that.

All the pg-13 J-horror remakes (Ring, Grudge, Dark Water, One Missed Call, etc) are :ehh: at best, but most of the Asian originals are pretty good.

I thought the Strangers was well done. No ghosts, no twists, just kind of old school and nihilistic.

Y'all who keep mentioning The Descent :rudy:

I keep seeing this movie on lists everywhere, I'm watching it now and am highly annoyed. This shyt sucks. Monster movies don't do it for me, I need psychological scares - paranormal shyt, ghosts, demons, spells, hauntings, those do a better job at creeping me

FML, I actually paid to watch TheDescent on demand :snoop:

Insidi was the last one that got me shook (the 1st half).
possession had so much potential but fukk it..

Still haven't got half way through this shyt its kinda boring. Peeps vouching for it but its sinister status so far. (Although I did like the opening raw footage hanging scene...nicely done).

You tripping, while not without their cliches and predictability, insidious and sinister were pretty scary, at least in regards to being able to get into your mind a little

I really liked some of tha shyt in sinister. Its nothin special tho. Creepy masked thing, creepy kids , I can see why some thought it was scary. I wanted more out of it.

Heres a couple I think you'd like:

- Strange circus (Watched this years ago so I forgot most of it, but its fcked up, plenty of deep symbolism and sht like that, probably one of the best/most controversial physiological horrors created)

- Noroi the cure (this by far has everything you want, but you have to be patient whilst watching it because the plot takes time to build and is pretty difficult to understand)

If yall want more suggestions or some links, let me know.

I'm not gonna defend Paranormal Activity but I will say this, it hits closer to home if you in fact live in a big (or 2 story home) with your lady. Just the two of you. In fact all movies like Straw Dogs, The Strangers, etc. That genre fukks with my lady so we can't even watch too many of those movies or she gets shook.

U-Turn is cool, with Sean Penn, J. Lo, Nick Nolte, and.... Billy Bob Thorton?
