There were a lot of small themes I think people missed, it really wasn't even about the ghost story I took it more of a character study about how Black people are forced to swallow their trauma in the hopes of making it in a severely racist society and I thought it was extremely well acted. I even understand why people don't like it because we are still doing the same thing in 2021. Swallowing our trauma trying to make it a racist society and I think this hit home in a way Lovecraft County, Us and and even Get Out didn't.
Don’t forget the most important point though. Brother Epps’ dialogue in the basement with Lucky brought it full circle. The evil of white supremacy is the spirit of Satan incarnate and the perversion of the Word into supremacist religion is it’s main vehicle. It lives in whites and can be any one of them which is why Miles was shapeshifting through the entire white demographic (male/female/young/old) when wanting Epps to torture us and break our souls for eternity in exchange for his own benefit. This show proclaimed us as the Chosen of YAH and that’s why Satan pursues us in this world system, but can’t destroy us. Why else was it so important to Miles that our souls in particular were broken? To antagonize the will of YAH is why.
The truth hurts and is ugly, but it’s the truth. We’re painted as the Saints whose innocent blood cries out from the soil of the earth. Epps confirmed this when he said our blood (he called it fetid blood, the exact opposite of innocent blood) drenches the entire earth’s soil so HE (YAH) is no longer honoring the covenant HE made with us/we’re cursed forevermore which is a lie from the father of lies.
The Saints that are knowledgeable in scripture can easily pick up on this and it’s encouraging because the show depicted US, not the Israeli Jews or whites, as the Chosen of the MOST HIGH. That means in Satan’s world HE’s letting us know through their own media that HE hasn’t forgotten us or else we’d be totally destroyed by them. I’m surprised the Jews aren’t raising hell about this yet to be honest .
