It doesn't make sense to anybody which is why the scientist were so surprised when they found out about it. And it's why they are scrambling to explain why it's happening.

And the Big Bang has been described as an explosion by many people. Quit thinking you know something cause you've spent years searching google for ammo to fight against religous nonsense.

The same way the "god particle" has been described by religious people.

Thats not what it maens.

Its better described as a "superposition of states" but the media can't rile up intellectual mental midgets to take interest in that language without trying to troll people out of their core undersatndings of the universe.

an objective and verifiable assertion that we hold to be universally consistent. but it doesn't mean its ACTUALLY universally consistent.

For our purposes, some things are so concretely unmoveable that we can't really challenge them...in our own understanding of the consistency of the universe.

Read your definition again.

If it a VERIFIABLE assertion, then it has to be tested and approved...like a...*gasp*...theory. :whoo:
Nope NOT the same
Again....A scientific fact is vastly different from a theory.

In the most basic sense, a scientific fact is an objective and verifiable observation, in contrast with a hypothesis or theory, which is intended to explain or interpret facts.

The two words cannot be interchanged in the scientific world.
Evolution is NOT a fact, it's a theory.....same way as big bang because there are so many ways to interpret them.

Can't have a conversation with you dudes cause you have fighting the atheist fight on your brains too much. Nothing I'm saying has anything to do with god or religous people.

I'm done with this nonsense. Go back to trying to convince religous people that god doesn't exists:heh:

The concept of "judeo-christianity" is a 20th century creation...unless you also mean the Judeo-Christian-Islamic god, since they're all abrahamic... :usure;
Christianity is a continuation of Judaism

...and we just found the universe is 15 billion years older than we thought...AND?!

Thats the fukking point of learning shyt!!!!!!!!!!!

Newtonian physics only works well on the macro level.
AND?!

The point is we are still learning, and what we find out COULD alter what we THINK we know.

That's it. That's all I've been saying the entire time.

sorry breh wasn't trying to act like you were the only person who was surprised by the acceleration, but scientists are surprised by A LOT of their findings but the fact that it is occurring means something else is "at work", but the mystery of why it's accelerating has nothing to do with the big bang theory or its credibility. But there is no way The Big Bang theory is going to be turned on it's head. The accelerated expansion is happening, so hit rewind on that tape and everything is at one single point of matter/energy as shown in the big bang theory. Those facts aren't going to change.

1. Couldn't that be the different fields of science we have developed?

2, I have a problem with evidence being used when talking about absolute truth and reality. Short of omniscience, it is impossible. As for humanity, evidence is surely the way to go.
:deadhorse:

and saying "objectivity" is a problem in and of itself, so as to mean that you know what it is.

3. I don't see anything opposing. One is just more clearly defined while one is incredibly ambiguous. Short of omniscience, it cannot be confirmed, and no science does not come close to knowing the ultimate answer.
How does science "not come close" if you claim you don't truly know what omniscience is? How do you know how "close' you can be?

its like wondering in the dark. do you know how close you are to the other wall or not? :usure:

DONT SPEAK ON THINGS YOU DONT KNOW...REMEMBER?
4. You're being pompous
I wear it well. :obama:
5. Yes, peer-reviewing is good at this level of reality but I am talking about at the ultimate level, where you can no longer go meta or macro/micro.
You claim pursuing objectiviy is pointless, yet for some reason you have a problem with the improving of accuracy. :mindblown: :what:
6. Nope, that's you just bowing down to empiricism and evidence for something that it can't possibly vet
Because theres no other means, that we know of, to validate or confirm a claim.

:camby:

What is your goal here? To repeat some shyt you learned in intro physics? :pachaha:

Yeah. Something happened we can't explain.

WELP...guess god did it.:obama: :ohhh:

You don't know that for sure, and plenty of scientists disagree with you.

Do you disagree with the story in the op?

All I said was that things like what they are saying in the op are being researched due to the holes in the Big Bang theory. Do you disagree with that statement?

its not a hole in the theory.

And I don't appreciate that language "hole" because it implies to the uninitiated that the entire thing is wrong...

Saying the existing model was INACCURATE might be a better use of our efforts.

And even still...WE'VE BARELY BEEN DOING THIS FOR 100 years. GIVE IT SOME TIME. :damn:
