Is that all you're hearing though? there is more than that
Yeah there is stuff added, which isn't the same as remastering. I think the new mix is too loud, makes some of the songs sound robotic and was unnecessary

I rarely listened to Echoes of Silence (the song) and I decided to look up the meanings and this one line made me kind of sad.
shyt damn near brought me to tears. I'm gonna start listening to that song now.
This album gets a 10 out of 10. Classic shyt. Disc 2 (Thursday) benefited the most from the new mixing.
I agree a lot of the songs sound more polished and less raw which was one of the draws of his music to me, I like it in a different way though and I think this mix is a bit more geared towards trying to get regular radio listening poeple to check for him.
"i got two little ladies...I got one little room"
While that song and rolling stone definitely address the topic of losing his core fan base by going mainstream (echoes of silence more subtle and they're reaching a bit, but it can be read in two ways) be careful with rapgenius. Their userbase has little knowledge of the history of hip-hop (shyt...even early 2000s hiphop) so they miss a lot of references and over analyze like a muhfukka. It is a cool site though I'm on it I'm not knocking it fully.
just started listening, I prefer the old version of What You Need over this version.

I just cut this together brehs.. wasn't the same without the sample. Tagged it the same as the group rip so it can replace the album version
