They don't cut you off for exceeding the cap, they charge you more. Comcast already charges a high amount for subpar service, so having to pay more furthers frustration. Asking how much speed a person needs isn't far of people thinking 20MB hard drives were excessive. You don't have to be "up to no good" to rack up data.

I have Comcast and I agree what you and @TripleAgent are saying about them and their services because when it come to data usage they be on some bullshyt with it. While y'all mention about trying not to download too many games because you can easily hit the data cap limit, it's even worse if you watching anything from Netflix cause I went over my cap limit from just streaming Netflix, but they'll get rid of the cap limit if you pay extra. With AT&T putting fiber in my area, suddenly Comcast is playing nice and giving out better deals to prevent people from switching over, but still won't get rid of the data cap unless you get fiber from them.

You can.... in markets where they offer that. It's not offered in my market. And since you used to work for Comcast you should understand how shytty their business practices are. It's not hard to imagine that most markets cannot purchase an unlimited plan.

They don't really include their employees on pricing structures outside of their area, but pricing does vary by area. And it's not a Comcast exclusive. They all do it

As for most markets don't offer unlimited we have not established that. What I can establish right now is this thread isn't filled with people saying they have caps. Most have said otherwise. In this thread.

Note the bigger issue I'm assuming you're not trying to say is how that extra price isn't always nice. In my case it was cheaper to get cable and internet but I was trying to get sub $100 (which I recently achieved)

Phoenix isn't a small city, and Comcast isn't out here. Still got a data cap, which is a new thing that they rolled out about a good four years ago (following the lead of Comcast).

They offer unlimited data, at an extra $50. Rates are already all type of fukked up out here because there's no real competition, so if you want unlimited data at a reasonable speed, it's not crazy to expect to have to pay in the area of $200 for internet alone.

While I wait, this option is $50 a month total, no data caps. How well it'll work depends. I have it, I did a speed test earlier and got 225mbps download speeds. Tested 4k streaming on two devices at once no problem. Have the entire house connected and there's no difference to cox gigabit outside of game downloads. What would take me 10 mins now takes twenty five minutes but my modem isn't near a window like recommended. You can try it for 15 days then cancel if it don't work as well for you as it did me but here you go

You get a little bit of a break if you bundle, obviously, but with the added cost of at least cable, you're paying likely in the area of $250 or more, depending on what all you get. That's not to mention the bullshyt they pull with equipment. If you want gigabit internet, you HAVE to use their all in one modem/router combo, which you have to rent at $20 a month.

Comcast is mostly available down south in Tucson, and they were in the same shyt as if 2014, when I last lived there. So, your main options are either Cox or CenturyLink in some places, and that shyt often maxes out at 15 MBPS
