This is bigger than people think, especially if they stick to it. No one else can really offer this like they can.

No one can offer a lot of things that Microsoft does as far as pushing the medium forward but what this also means is that with this, Microsoft will no longer focus on making Xbox one versions of games. They will be pure Series S/X versions only and then use those for streaming. Pretty smart and significant. While Sony is going to commit real time to ps4 versions of games, Microsoft no longer has to so new games will be developed for the newest systems but through the cloud, playable on older devices.

Microsoft, once committed to a task, moves like very few companies can move. The warchest is real when they want to use it. After all this time, they finally have a vision instead of just trying to slow everyone else down in the battle of the living room. Portability and the capability to take our grandest of experiences on the go is something to strive for while lowering barriers of entry. Only Microsoft can do this. No other singular company can. Like flight simulator, given the resources to do most things under one umbrella, begins and ends with Microsoft. Gaming is just a sliver of the pie that is Microsoft but when the weight of the CEO is behind it, we see what we see now, the machine moving at the speed of light.

I have a few questions for you cats.

So I'm in the market for a Series X/S. I don’t have a 4k TV, and I already have a few other consoles that I give my time to, so I probably won't be on the XBox heavy. So should I cop the S from Microsoft.com along with the extra storage, or should I wait it out until the series X restock. Any advice is welcomed.

Id wait to get the X. The extra storage is over 200 bucks, so buyin an S with the expansion card already puts you above the price of a Series X without the gettin the extra horsepower.

i got an X first n then an S for a travel console a few months later.
