The real question here is how the hell would Africa unification work....

Nothing in this thread is even remotely possible until you get all 50+ countries on the same page, stop the infighting, deal with the language barriers, stop HIV from killing a 10th of the population, get rid of the ridiculous government corruption, etc

Just closing the borders would do nothing for the continent in its current state.

A prosperous African populace would still need a global marketplace for its products and services. Can't have one without the other.

This thread echoes the same isolationist shyt that Trump's been selling to his rural base.

Be the No.1 producer of soy in the whole world, while still actively beefing with the Top 2 importers (China & Mexico) brehs.

:pachaha:

Most sustainable economies have developped inwards first before exporting their products. That's how they managed to become competitive. Actually the IMF ad World Banks have imposed to African countries to gear their economies towards exportations, which is the wrong move because then you are dependent on other countries' demands. We've seen where that has led.

Tjose people saueeze usa for what they can, and dont love usa,

To fvck a woman u hate but like her sex

Is better than...

Loving a woman that hates you and doesnt give u sex
No they love america, too. They just don't want to admit it. It's like woman marrying a millionaire and thoroughly enjoying the lifestyle, while at the same time she talks shyt about gold diggers who are in the exact same position as her. She's at the all the same events as the thot-wives mugging them, and doesn't realize she's one too. :mjlol:

India is far from being an example. High level of nationalism, rampant rape risk for women, inequality, anti-muslim sentiment, etc. China neither, with a autoritarian regime that has no interest in environmental issues, currently operating a mass repression against its muslim citizens. And the whole "Great Leap forward" killed like more than 50 million lol. Japan was a power long before it had to "catch up" to the West, meaning before WW2.

The Soviet Union too was putting satellites in space, ain't no one want to emulate Russia though.

And what's with repeating ad hominems? If we want to go that what you sound like a follower, acting like all we can do is copy what others have done. Which is what African countries have been doing for decades, and yet here we are. Sounds like all you're saying is "The only answer is to follow the West". Which is like the essence of euro-centrism.

you said that no country can put a satellite into space without meeting its basic needs, I'm just pointing out that india does not meet the basic needs of its people and has put a satellite into space and has nuclear weapons, so you assertion was provably false

i wasnt saying use any particular country as a model for africa, but i am suggesting you can learn from different countries

Gaddafi called for a Single African currency, we all know what happened to him cause of that sort of talk.

Ghadaffi was rejected by the western world and his fellow arabs, he then turned to africa to try to use it as a stepping stone and was presenting himself as a leader of black africa, it was disgusting to watch

no black african should follow an arab

Wrong. I said there's no point in doing so. Don't change what I said.

@Booksnrain has a point though. Ain't no point in sending satellites into space if people ain't eating enough. Not one country on Earth has sustained sufficient development itself without first dealing with basic needs : food, shelter, education, health. Anyways you ain't gonna "catch up" with the West, since it's the West that created the scale and has a 500 year headstart and got to where it is thanks to slavery, colonization and mass plundering of the world. Even though some still believe it's due to western "genius" lol. Africa's just won't be able to go the same route. And trying to do so (or rather, being forced to do so by the IMF, World Bank, Paris, Washington, the EU, etc) has led to what we see now.

You sound hypercritical of “Africans” if we can even distill millions of nations and ethnic groups down to the opinions of one overarching label of Africans. Out of billions of people I’m sure MANY Africans are concerned with sustainability.

Also who said anything about cowardice and running to Africa. It sounds like u are here to discourage ideas almost like ur threatened by this concept of the continent consolidating its resources to benefit their own people.

im just being realistic that development will become more important than the environment, thats not just africans thats everywhere

to me your post sounds like cowardice both intellectual and physical,, it just sounds like you dont want to fight with the west anymore, so you are trying to find a safe space in which you and africans wont have to compete with the west

im all for africa being a safe space, but for a "safe space" you need a strong military, a strong university system, good infrastructure, satellites etc, you want the sausage but dont want to talk about how the sausage is made

ok

so lets put it this way, building a sustainable economy and putting a satellite in space are not two separate things

Never said they were. But having the latter as a goal while not even being close to the the former sounds little sense to me, and as being caught up in wanting to do what others do while not adressing the populations needs.
