usa gave colombia the business ... that was like highschool vs professional there ...

and i'm colombian

I wouldn't go that far at all. The U.S. still haven't found their offensive game yet. Their passing wasn't good on top of them not being able to attack well from the flank positions on the field. The chemistry simply isn't there yet. I think this next game vs. China, they going to have to go to a 4-3-3 in order to get some offense flowing as the midfield offense is just lacking. On top of having Holiday and Rapione out, some serious ground will have to be covered as China has a pretty solid defensive. I think it's going to be one of those games where whomever scores first, wins the game as both defenses are really good.

That being said, the U.S. has all the talent in the world, they just need to play with hunger and a sense of urgency as you don't want to be still trying to figure out your offense when you have to play either France or Germany in the semifinal. This team is pretty far from being in peak condition right now. They're getting by with their stellar defense and amazing goalkeeping by Hope Solo. It's time for the U.S. to come out aggressive and to attack and put pressure on the opposing team.

Yes and no. No because when in total synch Morgan/Wambach/Press/Leroux are prolly the most threatining group of attackers in the world. Only Germany's front 2. Canada's Sinclair and prolly France's Thiney are anywhere near that level. So when they aren't playing well its horrendously obvious. The USA hasn't had the creativity of other teams and we are going to have a really hard time with China now that we are down our main offensive catalyst in Rapinoe. But it was domination in a sense of even when Columbia had the ball they were never truly a threat....USA's back four can win this tournament if they stay focused and fit. Nothing wrong with playing sound D and wining matches 2-0, 3-0, 3-1, 2-0...:manny:

That's why I would actually start Morgan and Leroux together and put Press in right behind them...so when Sydney makes those runs in she can either dump off to Press (like the goal against Australia) or Morgan can lay off a headed pass (an underrated facet of her game) to Sydney or Press for a easy goal...the USA is going to have to use their pace to win this match. Wambach is good, but i'd rather save her for a match against France/Germany seeing as how they both have size in defense and they will need to win EVERY set piece. Press is useless on the wing, she has all the pace but looks to the inlet pass or the through ball first and not the cross....her movement off the ball will be key against China.

I'd rather watch a wire hanger abortion than watch the US women play. God awful play.

Watching Japan vs. Netherlands. Defense is the word for this World Cup. The Netherlands haven't been able to generate good scoring opportunities. They're too hesitant to shoot once they get into range. And for the life of me, I don't know why they always try to go in the middle of the Japan defense. No chance to score like that.

No surprise from Japan as they aren't a high power offensive team but they have great speed which makes it hard for the other team to really establish shots on goal. Japan and U.S. somewhat mirror each other as they both have really strong defense but haven't quite unleashed themselves offensively. Japan has a pretty easy road to the final if they get past the Netherlands here.

Nice goal by Japan! Man, Netherlands had a prime opportunity to score but too many Japan defenders around the goal. Japan has such great discipline on defense, so it's vital if you can score first against them.

And that is game! That last goal allowed by the Netherlands cost them the match.:wow:Overall, Japan played another stellar, defensive match. This may shape up to be another U.S.A vs. Japan World Cup final. They have the best defensive game in the World Cup.
