I'm rewatching The Wire. How the hell could anyone ever say Breaking Bad is better then this? The supporting cast alone is fukking amazing. The dialogue and the depth of the series is unmatched. Breaking Bad is a very good series. But it's not touching The Wire.

Yea, there is no other choice than the Wire as best tv show ever. Its literally perfect and never had a weak episode (probably because it was serialized).
X-Files is second, but that weak ass 9th season fukked up the X-Files.
Crown the Wire as the greatest.

Damn skippy. Simpsons is high on my list too although I know it doesn't come up in most of these discussions because people normally only put serious dramas on the list but for me, it's at least 10 years of classic material and deserves to be mentioned. But the Wire is definitely number 1 or my 1b. It's damn near perfect. Then the Sopranos and Arrested Development
I really really really want to put the Sopranos as #1, but they had some undeniably weak and baffling episodes that threw off storylines...The Wire was a seamless, serialized narrative that improved on everything the Sopranos did and then some...
But Sopranos is #5 to me behind X-Files, MST3K, and 1963 Outer Limits. Tony Sopranos is one of the greatest characters in media history.
