Season 5 would of be much better if HBO had given the writers 13 episodes instead of 10. They had to shorten the original script and it was noticeable.

Ranking 1, 3, 4 is splitting hairs, and maybe because I didn't watch the wire until it went off, I have no hate for season 2. It was different characters, but it was interesting B-side to the B-more drug trade story. Season 5 just had too much shyt going on, they ran off the rails with some characters and left me wanting more from others

Frank was was a lot of things but complete idiot is going to far

as much as people can appreciate season two for it's acting , it was still a completely different show. It was sopranos about blue collar dock workers, not bad but completely out of place, and low key insulting considering how much piff we got from the previous seasons characters, Spent the whole waiting for the barksdale crew to show up again and never really got it.

The Barksdale crew was STILL a major part of this season

Technically the Barksdale crew never got dismantled imo because of Slim
Charles gaining control at the end of season 5. The king stays king. But that is a different thread topic.
