WHen they killed off Jimmy the show became trash :camby:. Could have had a whole season of him calling the shots while Nucky had to claw his way back, that shyt would have been :ohlawd:. Luciano, Lansky, Rothstein, Capone were far more interesting than Goo-goo-googly eyes :mjlol:

Show was full of wasted potential and it didnt help that HBO killed it off for that rock and roll flop they canceled after like 3 episodes :bryan:

Nah, Boardwalk isn't on that level. Hurt when they wrote Jimmy off and then they rushed the fukk out of the last season and the ending was:francis:

Wasn't the show runner's fault. The actor is an a$$hole, he's apparently difficult to work with. He killed it in an important role on Hannibal, but then asked off the show.:unimpressed:

They wrote Jimmy out of the show too early.

BWE was good, but I never had the feeling of wanting to watch it again. Id actually put SOA over BWE.

Like others have said, killing Jimmy so early was a mistake. They should have played the real life guys up more. Only one that really stood out (imo) was Capone, but he was annoying in this.

Michael Pitt (Jimmy) is apparently a clown in real life and that's why they wrote him out of the show. They wanted to keep him around for a few more seasons but got tired of dealing with the actor.

Fred.

I think as a gangster story and following the machinations of treachery and greed it was kinda weak. They used the "X gangster is back from jail or wherever and is now causing havoc in present day NJ." too many times. But as a show that is giving you a look at the lives of a subculture you don't often see on TV they did that the better than almost any show. The lifestyle, slang and just overall slice of life of Italian Americans in NJ is done perfectly.

ya that’s why I wasn’t overwhelmed by it initially...I was expecting an intense realistic mafia drama...some martin scorsese type shyt

probably top 10 most punchable faces ever

The wire ,Breaking Bad,Sopranos and Game of Thrones .

that’s it .

Nope. The last season is abysmal, but really the season before that wasn't that strong either. I'd replace it with Mad Men, The Americans, Better Call Saul, The Shield or even The Leftovers.

The Wire has one of the worst final seasons ever.

Game of Thrones was a legit great show and impacted popular culture for years .No other show reached those heights.Final season was wack but that doesn’t devalue the whole series to the point that shows like The Shield ,Better Call Saul and The Leftovers are above it

Mr. Robot is better than all of them.

The Wire
Breaking Bad
Mr. Robot
Sopranos
BCS

If BCS nails the ending it's above Sopranos.

Really wish I could put Lost and GoT in there but they ended horribly.

Final season of the Wire wasn't bad at all, it just wasn't great. I've seen the show 3 times, and I don't think there are any bad episodes in Season 5. The newspaper and serial killer arcs didn't fully work, but the last two episodes were outstanding. And all of the characters got worthy endings.

The final season of GoT is the worst of all the shows mentioned, even Boardwalk Empire. It was rushed, none of the characters had satisfying endings, and besides the dragons the fantasy element of the show was completely abandoned. In fact, the show dipped in the last few seasons after the writers couldn't adopt GRRM's books tbh, but it didn't get bad until the final season.

Mr. Robot is up there too with those shows. Not the biggest fan of Season 2 tho.
