First time seeing this
It's hilarious
Chris should have went harder on everyone:yeshrug:
Then Will couldn't have got mad at a benign joke

How much of that is staged and pre-approved shyt? The Kirsten Dunst thing was known by all parties involved. I can imagine many of those celebrities know what joke will be tossed their way and so on.

They say they would have said something worse because a member of their group was assaulted for saying something that is relatively mild. That creates anger and makes people say shyt like that.

You see it as twisting the knife because you see Will and Jada as victims, they don't see it that way. So this is only a betrayal because of your perspective.

Missing the point.

It is their business how they respond to a friend getting attacked. However the way that they're responding contradicts what they have been saying.

Can the platform be used to attack and intentionally hurt others? They seem to think so, so they're not being honest when they downplay the impact of their words and their platform.

This is a problem I have, cowardice. They expect to approach people any which way, but the moment they have to deal with the consequences that comes with offending others its "I'm a comedian".

Yeah, there is an intellectual dishonesty when a lot of them comment on that discussion.

Just because you want to normalize it doesn't mean all of us want to play along. Brothers do all types of stupid shyt everyday, what's your point? Will is a multimillionaire and will be okay, but to yall thinking you can just run up on anyone because "you're going through shyt with your wife" sound ignorant. Go ahead and get that misdemeanor on your record and try to apply to live in certain communities or for certain job opportunities. Keep thinking you can just pop off at random people in the street and not get stomped out.

Emotional. Look at you putting words in my mouth to fit your narrative :francis:

Damn right there's emotion influencing my opinion. I'm not a fukking android. I live this shyt everyday and am not just cosplaying for strangers on a website. Doesn't mean those feelings are clouding my logic. Tired of seeing brothers harmed or caught up in an unforgiving judicial system. Not putting words in your mouth as you're the one who said "people get slapped everyday, b." But alright, adopt that mindset and see how far you get.

Has comedian ever pretended like their words may not hurt people? That's a part of the craft. Something said will probably offend someone somewhere. There is no intellectual dishonesty I see.

If a comedian is offensive and not funny he will not be very successful. A comedian should also be able to read a room and adjust his act accordingly. Not everyone masters the skill.

As humans, however, we have come a long way from having jester beheaded because he offends a king or nobleman. Maybe the critical eye you cast at comedians should instead be cast at humans, who are the ones that ultimately laugh at the jokes and fuel things like roasts.

At the end of the day Will got a standing ovation. This tells me how Hollywood really feels about this. He has to be be punished though, that's just how these things work. He shouldn't have been so apologetic or "heartbroken" about the whole ordeal though. Seeming as how this "backlash" was going to come either way none of those maudlin sentiments were necessary. Either way Will Smith will be back. Nick Cannon survived spreading Jewish conspiracy theories so Smith will survive slapping Chris Rock, someone not getting the support you'd expect for getting slapped on stage. Well except for other comedians but they look funny in the light for not supporting Dave Chapelle when he had the transmission issues. In fact some came out against him. Comedians want to act like comedy is a free for all when they know it isn't. Comedy is all about punching down on acceptable targets when it used to be just punching down in general. But that's a subject for a different day.

Lavell Crawford he was on the same card as Chris Rock brother

Lavell roasted the fukk out of Will and Jada :mjlol: . This might be the funniest bit I've seen on the situation and perfectly encapsulates the absurdity of the shyt.

Beginning with "did this nikka just slap the fukk outta this nikka?" :gucci: If you go back to the start of the thread you'll see that's what most brehs was on lmao. None of us knew what to think. Then when he actually won minutes later and made that sniveling and contrived speech about the devil :sadbron:. "nikka you don't even go to church!!!!" :russ:. Finally the alopecia part :lolbron:. Won't spoil what he says but it's true the self-righteousness surrounding it is nauseating. FOH with that noise.
