So basically :deadhorse:
Chris and will could sign a peace treaty and that still wont be good enough:francis:

Precisely. For these people, it's no longer about Chris, and tbh maybe it never was. Will slapped something bigger than Chris on that night and we're only seeing the beginning of what it ultimately means for him.

Man, Will took a huge L. Really don’t see how some of y’all don’t see it. Maybe you don’t want to? This shyt about to follow this dude like the monsters in It Follows for the rest of his career. Was that slap worth it what it will cost him in terms of his reputation and blowback? Hell no!!! I’m not a religious man, but the Bible does have some interesting insights into human behavior and, “Pride goeth before a fall.”

I hate it had to be him. :picard:

Naw he's fine. The black community and international audience won't turn on Will.

He's just just lost his good will pass in White Amerikkka's eyes and will be treated more like Lebron from now on.

The reaction and hate towards him is very reminiscent of how c00ns and whiteboys go after Lebron whenever he does or says anything and especially the "China incident".

You know
All I'm seeing is tweets from mad whiteboys and c00ns.

You're delusional if you actually think the black community is going to turn on Will over this.
The only ones I see going against will are the ones who think he’s just a “simp” and have no sympathy for him whatsoever. They get joy out of his “demise”

Then something is wrong with your sight, it's all over the place. Plus, there was a thread here on it before it got merged into the big thread. He let his wife constantly belittle him. You think that gets a lot of support? He was laughing at the joke, wife gave him the order to go handle it and he did what he was told.

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
If he can't get CR to do a media play/ploy, he is done

The bruh he slapped and embarrassed forever is the only person that can help him

*incoming stream of consciousness*

What’s crazy is people talk like Chris doesn’t have a family. Like he just sprung from the aether 50+ years old fully formed or some shyt. He has two black daughters, right? They had to see their father slapped on national TV over a relatively minor Jada Pinkett joke, but fukk his black family, right? :gucci:

Comedians serve a vital community function whether it’s highlighting the absurdity of a particular collective ethos, subversion of the status quo, championing free speech, or bonding communities.

Also, some of y’all really underestimate the destructive capabilities of white people. Will is not just going to be able to shrug this off in a few weeks. If/when he gets a new role this is all they’re going to ask him about. When he’s doing a media tour — this is all they’ll ask him in re-worded way. If he’s casted in a new movie… they’ll be talking about boycotting it, and the production company, and the director, and picketing, and the reviews will mention the dastardly Will Smith, and so forth. “How could you hire that criminal for a role?!?!” Them Disney roles and shyt? That’s dead. White people have made whole ass negros/people disappear. Y’all remember Isaiah Washington? James Franco? Exactly. Obviously, not stars on Will’s level, but Will is going to have to take a seat for awhile. Will’s recent movies were not doing well prior to this commercially with the exception of Aladdin. He’s going to have to holler at Tyler Perry or something, because them Hollywood white gatekeepers going to :hubie:.

All this for a woman that is literally in love with a dude that’s been dead for 20+ years and pines for him every chance she gets, publicly humiliates her husband at every turn from I never wanted to marry him to he can’t satisfy me in bed — to I really didn’t know him before this pandemic. I asked my girl if (who is the best woman I’ve ever met romantically — by far) if she would have wanted me to slap Chris and was like, “Of course not. That’s silly. I wouldn’t let you tarnish everything you’ve worked so hard for. Besides that, I don’t need you to slap anyone that hasn’t physically harmed or threatened me to feel honored by you.” My black queen. :wow:

I do feel bad for Will on some-level. Dude has an incredibly unappreciative Delilah for a wife, people coming at him from every angle from the child rearing of his kids, his religiosity, his children’s sexual proclivities, the entanglements, etc. He has to feel like he’s being crushed, but with that said he fukked up bad.

That tranny, the sista and the white woman Will let that shyt slide cause he would be done if he slapped a woman or tranny. So Will gave Chris that slap for his joke and the joke them other women gave him. Its like when a mothafukka mad at his wife he go kick the dog and kick the car instead of touching her....:francis:

Chris came out at the right time....he was at the right place at the right time. Like a tiger chasing a slow prey....so thats why Will got him.

Yup.

Actually it may revive his career like Chris Rock.:yeshrug: Everyone loves a comeback story.

Bad Boys 4 gonna do :mjlit:numbers with that Chris Rock cameo.

Will Smith’s career didn’t need “reviving”, the one-two punch of King Richard and the Bel Air reboot had the entire industry singing his praises and the Oscar win would have been an excellent shot in the arm for the back half of his career as a veteran actor.

The “incident” is a stain no doubt but its not going to ruin his entire career. Like others have said, he’s got a new movie coming out next year so all he’ll have to do is take a suspension from the Academy and do an apology tour (Jada BETTER be by his side every step of the way) and he’ll be fine. Next year at this time I can see all the articles talking about “The Quiet Redemption Of Will Smith” and fawning over him again. The reaction right after the incident from his Hollywood peers was enough to let us all know that Will Smith will be fine.
