I think they'll have to suspend him because of the outrage and to show that they at least took the situation serious. The fact that he's Will Smith and still has use to the big players in Hollywood will be the only reason why he isn't completely kicked out of the academy altogether.

Anything less runs the risk of pissing off Chris Rock even more and potentially having a lawsuit on their hands.
