One great thing about going for this feat is I'm really diving into my backlog. Games that I bought and just for whatever reason didn't play.

Because I've really discovered some games I enjoyed that honestly I probably would have never got to if I wasn't attempting to beat 50 in 1 year.

And my god. I forgot how much I loved rayman origins. I played that one on vita. Adored it.

This sequel somehow is even better than origins. In fact they include a lot of origins missions as a bonus in this.

There is nothing in gaming that can beat a well made 2d side scroller platformer. They are truly the essence of what games are all about.

I won't even mince words. This game is perfect. A master piece in game design.

This is the type of game that reminds you why you love gaming in the first place. It's just pure gaming.

The level design in this is flawless. There are no gimmicks.

So many indies feel like they have to have a gimmick. It'd a 2d platformer wit a twist they say. Nah. Keep that. Just make a good game save the gimmicks.

But I digress.

I beat this in 2 days and I could not put the controller down. I'm going to keep playing this. Do all the bonus missions, the challenges etc.

I don't know how many times I caught myself just beaming smiling playing this.

The speed run missions where the game plays a music track and has the actions of the game sync up with the musical effects of the song playing are so fukking well done. They are genius.

This game is on the same level of mario. If you haven't played this. Do so.

I really hope we see another rayman game in the future.

Those speed run levels were definitely exciting as hell.

Doesn't matter how old I get, there's a couple things I will never not love..

Top down shooters and couch co-op.

Couch co-op is the best way to play games. I'm sorry but Internet mp is not the same. It just isn't.

Assault android cactus was on one of those Ps plus polls but lost out to broforce I believe. But once I saw it nominated and checked it out I knew I would enjoy it so I bought it after it lost.

The art style might be a turn off for some people I won't even lie All the characters female and very chiboo cutesy. The story is silly and irrelevant and frankly pointless. I don't mind that stuff in this genre because twin stick shooters are about game play.

And the game play in this is :blessed:

Where as most twin stick shooters use health bars and x amount of lives this one changes it up.

You do have a health bar and die, often, you just get back within a few seconds of button mashing.

The level ending game mechanic in this is a battery system. Basically you have a battery life. You have to grab batteries to recharge which are dropped by enemies upon death :demonic: if the battery drops to zero you die.

Honestly I felt while interesting it made the game too easy. At first it was thrilling always seeming to get a battery drop right before you die but this seemed to always happen. It didn't happen 100% of the time but often enough that it made the game fairly simple and too easy.

Each character has their own weapon and a special weapon. Ranging from rail guns to machine guns to shot guns. Some levels did go by easier beating bosses when you switched characters to suit the play style.

There is power up that make you run faster,or freeze enemies or have extra guns at random for a short duration.

The one thing that stood out to me was how smooth the frame ate was considering this game gets HECTIC. Im talking dozens up dozens of enemies on screen at once while you are shooting everywhere the game feels intense and chaotic all the time while always performing perfectly. Makes that broforce performance on ps4 even more :aicmon: thinking about it.

Finally putting the time and attention it deserves into The Witcher 3. I freaking love it:wow:

Combat is meh, but the story and world are amazing.

After I get to #50 I'm going to tackle all the big open world games.

Watch dogs 2 invigorated the genre for me.

Gonna play Witcher 3,mgs V and fallout 4.

Right now I got my brother in for the holidays so looks like my games for the rest of the 50 will be couch co-op

We playing overcooked right now I fukking love it.

I beat Mass Effect and now I am moving onto part 2. Initially, I am disappointed. I now have to reload during battle (I thought this was the future?), the leveling system looks wack as does most of the interface, and they ruined my shepard's baby face so now it's cracked like Seal. I'm sure the story will be on point but I will definitely take my time.

Buy this game. Right now. Do it.

This game is co-op heaven.
You can play up to 4 players and it is just insanely fun.

The story is buzzard but it doesn't really matter

You are cooks and you make food orders. The brilliance is in the simplicity.

You have to grab ingredients, chop them up, cook them, arrange them on plates, clean the plates and serve them.

The thing is things get very intense. If you take too long orders will cost you points. You can burn things and start fires.

You make things like soup, fish and chips, pizza burgers etc. Once the levels start ramping up you'll be making multiple orders with different ingredients and different plates

The trick is in the level design. Some of them will you'll be crossing platforms across a river, walking between moving trucks, having taken less and shelves really arrange etc

Communication is KEY. You NEED to work as a team or you'll be getting posses and failing levels

The game gets very hectic when you're trying to figure the shiftingredients levels while communication and keeping track of orders and arranging them.

But when it goes good it's fun as fukk.

Honestly probably my favorite co-op experience this Gen.

I've been playing almost nothing but great games lately :ohhh:

So these 2 are included among like 6 or 7 games I think it was in the metal slug anthology. They're listed under the ps2 classics as they were released original as a collection on ps2

And while these do have trophies this is not a good port.

Firstly, the game isn't upscale like the other classics and it displays in the old TV format so a lot of the TV is just black bars.

Secondly, the games have slow down and technical issues. When things get hectic, the frames start crawling.

Lastly and the worst offender, there is input lag galore. You actually have to plan your jumps around the input lag because it is THAT noticeable.

As for the games. Well technical issues aside their still a blast to play. The sprites and bosses still look wonderful to this day. The amount of detail is great.

But...it's painfully obvious these are arcade games. These are meant to be quarter sucking machines. However since this isn't the arcade death is meaningless as they give you unlimited continues.

The fact you can't really die and there's no consequences takes away ALL challenge. You can spam grenades purposely die then pop back up and have your grenade ammo back up.

I wish they had implented a set number of continues or SOMETHING.

As is, while I had fun playing these 2 in co-op with my brother, I can't recommend this anthology to anyone. I copped it on a psn sale Friday but come away very disappointed.

:laff:

I can't even lie. This is just shameful shyt.

I started listening to ps I love you podcast(great podcast by the way,I've almost listened to the entirety of the show now) and they talk about a lot of random games.

I got the overcooked recommendation from them in fact.

They talked about my name is mayo quite a few times. It was a dollar so curiously I bought it just for shyts and giggles.

Literally the entire game is you clicking on a mayo jar, putting different costumes on it and....that's it.

Click on a jar of mayo for 1 hour and get a platinum trophy.

I'm no trophy whore or anything buy I guess that's the entire point of this...product.

Just the fact this fukking thing has a platinum and so many games that should have one don't is hilarious and pathetic.

This game actually charted in the top 10 digital sales when it came out :dead:
