Adding mods on the Skyrim remaster is pretty dope. They integrated everything well.
Still haven't decided how Im going to go about using them. Im not huge on trophies but when I saw that they are disabled when you have mods activated I had to stop for a second and think.
I wish they had a way to only effect certain trophies for certain mods, because the ones I was using were all texture, blood, and dynamic effects mods. Nothing that would give me a gameplay advantage.

Finished The Last Guardian. Blown away by how fantastic this game was. The pacing was masterful. I never had a moment where I wanted to stop playing. The game builds up and slows down just right to keep you going. For a game that's low on actual "combat" in the sense of fighting enemies, I still enjoyed the gameplay a lot. The visuals are out of this world. I'm on a 1080P and I want to replay this game once I get a 4K TV. Trico is lifelike at times. The only thing I'd mention that were kind of annoying was the framerate at times would drop even on the Pro and the controls for the boy at times can be slightly annoying but nothing major to take me out the game. Masterpiece imo and a patch or two can make it even better.

Now back to Persona 5 :ohlawd:

This was a PS Plus game I think in November and originally released on ps4 in Jan.

It is kind of a isometric hack and slack skash/twin stick shooter hybrid as you can and need to do both.

The hook of this game is actually quite cool. You are playing through a 1950s B film Sci if flick, while the director of the film does a DVD Commentary narrating.

This is bar none, one of the funniest games I've played. The director is a total sleeve bag and his stories about not paying staff,or just generally being a cheap piece of shyt always gives me a chuckle.

To best describe it,it's like playing through an ed wood film as he narrates.

It's quite a clever premise and serves the game very well. There's even a hook/twist in the final act that's pretty Damm good.

Visually they even have that rough 50's film grain filter to really drive it home. The characters and enemies are all straight out of a b film. It really nails this.

However, the game play itself is just merely serviceable. I think they knew that which is why they had to really dress it up.

You can upgrade your guns and melee weapons but it's not particularly deep or interesting.

You literally are scaling a huge tower throughout the whole game. At any point you can jump off and use your jet pack to land safely. The game has teleport docks scattered everywhere that you can travel to at any time. It also conrains pods as you can switch characters at any point between a robot a man and a woman.

Overall, I played through this in 2 sittings. It was around 5 hours and for the most part I enjoyed my time. Imaging housemarquee game play would have made this a must play.

As is its an enjoyable experience if flawed.

Ratchet_and_Clank_cover.jpg

I started this one after it dropped but shelved it because I just wasn't into it at the time.

I thought if I took some time away I would enjoy it more and my feelings would change.

Sadly,they haven't.

Now don't get me wrong,it's still a solid game. The gameplay is fun and the graphics are beautiful.

My problem still remains.

This was a chance to really reboot the series. To take some chances. To evolve this series.

Instead it's just more of the same in a nicer package.

The first ratchet dropped on ps2. Then we had an HD remaster on ps3. Now we have a remake. All the while we've had a lot of games in the franchise. This is the 14th in 14 years. Some of that was stand alone dlc or one off spin offs though.

I've played most of them and frankly this just didn't do it for me.

I understand if you skipped the ps3 games or are new to the series there's a lot to like here. There's nothing inherently wrong with the games just like there isn't anything wrong with cod or asscreed except over saturation.

I still enjoyed the game but I wanted to blown away instead of going through the motions.

I'm finally getting around to playing MGS5, and while the game is fun, this is the first MGS without a story. I think I'm about half way done and I still have no real clue why I'm doing what I'm doing.

Probably end up getting Mafia 3 next. Been wanting to play that game for a minute. Hopefully it doesn't suck.

You have to be very familiar with all the other games, including the hand held ones to even begin to understand what MGSVTPP is about.

The art style of this game is gorgeous. It's quite a looker for its genre.

Gameplay wise this has a lot going on.

Firstly, this is an action rpg but it has a heavy emphasis on the narrative and Choice.

In fact, the game has 24 different endings. I personally have done about 8 of them now.

Every playthrough at repeated points you will have branching paths to take that change the story and stages.

It's like a choose your own adventure with consequences. It gives the game a lot of replayability to see how everything shakes out, each playthrough giving you more sides of the story and giving you a bigger picture of what's happening.

The game is also narrated, and they do include a nice touch of humor.

Gameplay wise I was constantly reminded of super giant games. Bastion and transistor. Almost a hybrid of the two games.

The combat is serviceable but it can get repetitive as it's not very challenging. Well. Not until the ending when it throes everything and the kitchen sink at you and when you die you respawn with only half health.

I think if you like indies you'll find an over looked gem here that has some flaws but overall is an enjoyable experience.
