10 more to go. Got 28 days
I really wanted to love this I just didn't.
That's not to say it's bad because it isn't. I liked it. But best telltale game? Nah. Not for me. Not even close.
If you like Borderlands there's no way you can't like this. It nails that games aesthetic and sense of humour. The problem is the main appeal of borderlands is its addictive game play and this can't convey that
The story and characters here are just meh. The story was a convoluted mess. The characters are mostly paper thin. That's not a huge problem in the borderlands games because those are about the game play.
In a game like this where that's stripped away that's what your left to focus on.
At points I was just flat out bored going through this. There's time when I could just put the control down forever and occasionally hit a button.
The qtes had no consequence. if you press the wrong button it didn't even matter.
However the game is flat out hilarious. I laughed out loud at least once or twice an episode.. But that's just not enough for me.
I also felt like the episodes were too long and had too much filler.
This isn't bad,but maybe my expectations were too high. This isn't touching the walking dead season 1 or the wolf among us. Games that genuinely gripped me start to finish because of their stories and characters.
In this I just felt like beyond the humour there was nothing for me to hold onto.
In fact the more I played and the deeper I got internally the score I was giving it kept dropping because I was just bored way too often.
6.5/10
