Man what happened to the genius that created House of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes of Silence.

Everything since then (except Trilogy obviously) has been fukking :trash:
once you sign to a major label and become an industry artist, its over, artistry means nothing, your goal is to sell records and get hit singles not create art. If you have a favorite artist, the last thing you want is the, signing to a major label

Although I enjoy this album more than BBTM it's still second bottom his list. Good pop music but doesn't move my soul like anything up to Kissland

I'm enjoying this album now bu I can tell it won't have legs on that replay value like some of his old work

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
I couldn't get into his moody music... sorry, outside of rap/hiphop/R&B and house music...

Your boy is a big top 40/contemporary music buff (felt this way since the late 80's) - and not one bit afraid to admit such.

With that said, i'm enjoying the shiit out of this album. The melodies and catchiness of the tunes is one thing (which is a far cry from his origins coming into the music scene, but that's a total moot point now)... the production is a fukkin' mazing.

If you have a whip with a great sound system... this album is bound to get multiple panties off in one trip alone.

This shiits on BBTM and doesn't sound good as a pop album... but an enjoyable album in itself and has strong replay sense with me. I've been bumping it heavy since drop and even though the album title opening song didn't move me much when i heard it on the radio, Star Boy really flows well when you listen to it on the album and it even grew like hell on me.

One can fathom why Weeknd purists don't appreciate this... but you didn't think that sound was going to last forever.

He's a pop star now... with an UBER EXTENSIVE back catalogue you can enjoy if you loathe his current direction in music.

The thing we can all agree on is his distinctive voice and eccentric delivery in sound and approach in it. No ones doing music like The Weeknd and that's what we all should appreciate about the crooner from the north.
