Even though I like the songs with Future, when he goes into that lane, it starts to feel like it's Future's song and not like before.

I like starboy, love the hook and chorus, verses are kind of tiring with the degenerate low life angle of the songs, but it is a great opener for his vocal style and I hoped to hear more songs in line with this or building off this sound for the album.

Party Monster - just a boring song lyrically and sonically, there is no melodic hook, bass is kind of one note as well.

False Alarm - nice 80s synthcore intro, drums programming is interesting. Vocal distortion is terrible, weak chorus, and disjointed from the previous track. It seems he didn't really have a cohesive vision for the album outside of obvious synthcore influence.

Reminder - boring song and he doesn't have the vocals to make it special and there is nothing interesting about the production. Song content is beyond boring, just a filler sounding song.

Rockin' - terrible song with terrible drums and synths, again lyrically weak, and it doesn't help that the vocals are layered, just a weak song IMHO.

Secrets - Nice intro, vocally coming down in range helps him this song. Actually strangely poppy song, reminds me of lyndsy buckingham's "trouble" and his sound during his "Law and order" phase. I like this track very melodic, some of the breaks are questionable and fukk up the grove, but very solid track.

True Colors - coming off the last track, this seems completely disjointed with a 90s era R&B feel with production. He has to carry the song vocally due to the minimal background, but he is pitched too highly. Just not a good throwback to the 90's R&B sound due to his weak vocals. Lyrically though this song is actually the best one I've heard in this album so far. Probably should have given this song to a better singer.

Stargirl Interlude - terrible and shouldn't have even been included, doesn't even setup the next track

Sidewalks - interesting intro, song is boring though, lyrically again treading the same ground, vocally pitched down he does a good job. its a alright track, nothing great but equally not terrible, just there. Not a fan of Kendrick Lamar, kills the replayability for me.

Six Feet Under - Ho anthem track, nice bassline, but not really interesting musically to me, throw away party track aimed for a demographic that I'm not in.

Love to Lay - Again disjointed from the previous track, very light pop track. Again a vocal spotlight track and again he fails for me, the chorus misses the mark for me, its like it tries to be catchy and has all the ingredients but it doesn't connect for me. Just another middle of the road track for me.

A Lonely Night - moving back to 80s era sounding production, again just a boring song to me sonically, weak chorus, lyrically middle of the road, not terrible, not great. Just a boring track, even the break near the end isn't enough to get me to lose the feeling that he was sleep walking through this track.

Attention - Like the synths, but again a vocally heavy track which he chooses to go high and to his detriment. Lyrically the concept is getting boring on this album, a filler track if I ever heard one.

Ordinary Life - lyrically boring we get it, you are a degenerate and live the fast life, no new ground treded her, production wasted on weak lyrics, tired concept, and sub par vocals.

Nothing Without You - Like the production, like the chorus, hoping to hear a twist or something to elevate the track but its monotonous, needed to put more time in this track and he could have had a standout track.

All I know - Week track and a terrible feature from Future.

Die For You - Just a boring song, vocally he doesn't have the range or the vocal creativity to elevate songs like this and like the track "nothing without you" it feels like he had the bones for a solid track but he didn't want to put the time into making it one and its just a lazy one note song, with lyrics not capable of elevating the delivery or vice versa.

I feel it coming - sounds like a terrible MJ wannabe song that doesn't really hit, I think with the music there was some things they could have done so it didn't come off as a poor MJ homage that is weak hook wise. Disappointing ending to a album that started off strong and like it could have been different in a good way with nods to the MJ influence.

--------
Overall poor album to me, only 2 tracks I like.

This album is just :wow:.....

The production, HOH lyrics, bravado, even two ballads and even the ode to MJ :husky:

glad he avoided the obscurity of OVO tents and curved the sheltered actor cause
He's a muthaf*ckin Starboy :hitunes:

Tired of nikkaz crying about HOB, EOS and Thursday

Fans are ungrateful as fukk. If dude still made music like he did back then, y'all would be calling him one-dimensional and depressed. But then he shows progression and you want him to keep making the music he made back then.

I loved those mixtapes too but it's never coming back, nikkaz gotta get over it. He told y'all nikkaz on rolling stone he would become a pop star and you still complainin :mjlol:

it's not about making the same music...most of us Trilogy stans knew he was planning to branch out and anticipating it...some of these songs are horrible...and this shyt is 18 TRACKS LONG...album was made purely for the intention of racking up streaming equivalent units...

Man what happened to the genius that created House of Balloons, Thursday and Echoes of Silence.

Everything since then (except Trilogy obviously) has been fukking :trash:
