That Pitchfork interview is great. It let's you know that he's fully aware of everything that's been the topic of discussion with him. From the MJ & Prince comparison, to people complaining that they want the 'old sound' back.... Everything is covered - he even called himself a villain which is something that I alluded to in this thread....

This bottom bit tho, I'm going to need the input from ALL of the longtime, XO fam on here (*looks especially at you @Prodigal Syndicate *)

Brehs..... If the bolded is the next chapter in this shyt, I would officially be able to die a happy man :mjweekndcry:.......

Co-sign on that.

That'd be interesting, but unless he does it as a free mixtape the label would never drop that, especially not after this albums success.

But still,it would be an ambitious and interesting project.

I agree with bolded, right now he has got a huge fanbase with the pop feel of this album, I think the label would look at another Thursday/HOB official pressed up release as :whoa: considering where he at right now. His day 1 fans, myself included, would be all over it.

He owes us a mixtape of some sorts anyway :hmm:. I didn't forget years back when he retweeted DJ Drama saying that they were going to do a Gangsta Grillz tape together . I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that he would do a double album reflecting 'both' sides of his music either (his 'new' and 'old' sound).

Creatively, he has an infinite of possibilities where he can take this next.

Now that is an idea, maybe a Side A/Side B album.

As with every damn Weeknd album, I find two standout songs on my first spin and think the others are just ok.

Then I listen to it again and I start switching my favorite songs until I realize the whole damn thing is fire.

Confirmed sales #'s come out Saturday.

At the moment, he's projected to sell around 300-325k.

I went to amoeba in Hollywood today and it was nowhere to be found. I did see that the three first tapes are all now sold individually with their original artwork now. Kinda wish I had those instead of the trilogy set but the extra songs on trilogy are cool.
