Because Kissland flopped hard. Go back check his few interviews and comments. He went back 2 da label for advice and they hooked em up wit new producers n writers to help him say his msg in a different way. And it worked.

Like HoB days could you picture Abel working with Mad Max the most pop, bubblegum producer there is. But look how amazing that turned out. Can't feel my face is a chart topper, a bubblegum beat wit Abel singing bout snorting coke. Doc had 2 go man, all Doc was doing was trying to copy Zodiac da OG. And he wasn't doin a great job of it.

for all your fickle and/or hipsters at least 4 songs on the album could easily be on some trilogy series ish

well i enjoyed the album, a little more 'poppy' but just a little ... yall nikkas making it sound like he made a taylor swift album or some shyt

he sounded like a imitation of himself on a couple of these joints
the original team he had handling production and mixing did a better job of catering to him vocally
sounded whiny as fukk on some tracks

he adjusted his creative process and landed in a lukewarm middle ground
that free flowing style works best for him
6minute songs with no real hooks or bridges just drugged out bars is him
you can tell where other pens came in the mix

couple songs I'll replay
but it isn't a front to back spin like the first 4(kissland flowed way better as a whole imo)

it doesn't matter cause he's pop now
anything will fly as long as it gets enough radio spins and commercial placement*

I like the album. I didnt like kissland too much at first and it grew on me a lot, this one i like more off the first listen so a few more spins will tell.. But come on brehs you cant expect something of house of balloons caliber everytime.




BUT he gets close man. its always a dope listen.. he might be the ghostface of r&b being so consistent
